Default How will co-op battles work?

I haven't played a co-op campaign battle before, but I was curious when your partner/opponent is playing against the AI, does the other player become a spectator? If so, I don't see why this is a problem for a 4 player co-op campaign, or even 6. I know would really enjoy just being a spectator in this type of game and analyse my friend's tactics and just enjoy watching the cinematic combat and graphics. Hopefully we'll get an expanded limit on the co-op campaign either way.

The other player is a spectator but on each unit you control there is a give to other player so each player can move units back and forth. So like when play with my bro I give him my left flank and i control the right flank or give him cav and I control the center. so he can mirco the cav more.

In co-op campaign, if you have a battle and your player ally has no army to reinforce he/she can choose to spectate. If he/she does that you grant him/her control over any number of units. It's pretty awesome.
With 4 or 6 players it would get more complicated and the turns very very long, but it's still sad that they didn't grant more than 2 players campaign, for those who have the patience for it.

That sounds perfect. So co-op campaigns are going to be super fun for me because I especially enjoy spectating total war battles. Plus my friend who will be co-op campaigning with me is brand new to RTS games, so I'll be able to observe his battles and help him out with tactics and stuff - can't wait!!!

The faction that initiated the siege battle gets the city, the other army acts as reinforcements.

Reinforcements for the AI side? Weird...
