    Hey All!

Hello All! A new Let’s Play for you this week and it’s a Campaign episode with Trish and Dom.

We have a look at some of the factions, families and their traits. Dom takes us through his progress in his latest bid for world domination as Carthage and brushes on some of the inner workings of the cities. Finally, we see a little diplomacy with some of the friends and enemies Dom has made.

    Enjoy

The campaign map looks glorious. I do hope this game will live up to all the expectations.

I sugest to give some hairs to the Julii Leader , it Looks disquietingly similar to Mussolini and in Italy is not something that is really nice to see ... it woudl be like having the leader of germans look like Hitler .
also I noticed how most of the faces of leaders look the same, in particular romans and cartaginians , wich doesn't make much sense beeing the first whiter than the seconds .
I will not comment on the incomprensible UI and the strange all cliffs map ...

    the rest seems nice

Also is a sign of historical mistake to give Julii the malus for populace , actually People loved Caesar and shows a poor interpretation of history .

as for Rome beeing wiped out in first turns , how a big failure for a game based and focuse and called Rome ... to not have a chance to fight against the major power of history .

and for Preference of CA for germanic faction is now I clear ... " they have the coolest units " and most cared/detailed lol ...

So in one thread you are complaining that the Samnites don't have Swastikas (or whatever they are called) on their shields and in the next thread you are complaining that some guy looks a bit like Mussolini?

That's what I call double standards buddy. Me, I couldn't care less even if they would have made a hitler look alike but if a character this prominent really looks like mussoline I'd imagine it's worth CA's time to actually change him a bit.

Anyway, just browsed through the movie, will watch it in full when I get home but it look absolutely smashing, Spain alone looks to be an epig challenge to conquor.

There are no germans in Rome 2. So there is no reason why someone should look like Hitler. Even if there were, this would not be a reason.

    sorry, but just

Nice main menu design, though horrible UI - small icons, cluttered and incomprehensible building pictures. I think too much minimalism is really hurting the game. Will need really much time to get used to.
Nothing really new on the diplomacy, but nice details on the victory conditions and starting bonuses. Overall, looks nice but not without some issues

Rome isn't wiped out in the first turn. A game start at 272BC and we can see that they're playing at 214BC.

The Julii happiness penalty was for regions of a different culture, not for the Roman populace. I guess this is meant to represent the various uprisings in Gaul.

To be fair, the Romans were probably getting attacked from the south by a human player. Why shouldn't the Etruscans take advantage of the situation?

A OK. If it's the case, that's would totaly make sense. Newly conquered provinces with different culture should have a high revolt risc. But only for a time period directly after they were conquered (Gallia was absolutely calm during the civil war). Thanks for clarification.

I think you missed the point. The Julii have a Romanisation bonus. This will result in bad relations with other factions (or public order?) because they don't like that you force your culture upon them. Atleast that's how I understood it.

This is correct, that is one of the reasons Gaius Julius Caesar was killed. He basically brought people from different conquered cities to ROME to participate in the city.

Improving the cultural mix but aggravated the other families which were against changing the Roman birth heritage, and as soon I saw the malus for populace, I was like "what the".

Please take a look at this again, also why is Rome destroyed so easily ? I guess Gaius Julius Caesar was killed by the populace.

Well i am completly astonish on how you keep fixating on such details like cliffs or the faces, but i have to agreee about the hair thing in the julii family.
Now about that hole Rome being wiped out by the etruscans instead of the other way around is one of the things which makes this game great, the possibility of changing history both by you and the AI, if it was the way you wanted each campaing we would end up fighting against the same factions, sory but you couldnt have been more wrong with that statement.
Also Romans loved Caesar but mostly barbaric factions and Africans didn't.

Well no exactly, i mean being a client state means that they are a part of your empire so they are already intergated, they pay taxes and contribute with supplies your other territorys might not have, they have to aid you in war and in return you give them exactly what you give to your provinces, protecction. Conquest would be in the case you want to fully control what happens in the provinces and what buisness it takes.

Well they didnt show much, half the video was trish and doms face,(not that i complain trish), but everything looks great, love the map, the new province system and the new windows settings and to see that there will be upcoming DLC's for which you guys will make up pay....lol
    thanks
Also to confirm, yeah trish is quite cute

personally I find the campaign design decisions and overall strategic aspect of the game completely childish and kid level with several historical grossly mistakes and definetly silly representation of the history .

This game is clearly focusing only on make people clash on some few battles here and there and the overal campaign map looks kind of a joke ... Ubersized cities , unacessible lands and islands , almoust all barricaded shores and several other things I 'd better not start commenting on .

What do you expect to happen? CA changing the entire game to your personal preferences? Seems to me like you hate the most basic elements of the game. Aesthetics, style, design choices related to game play, skin color, user interface, city sizes, amount of sieges. We're a month away from release and complaining about all these core things gets you nowhere. This is a close representation to the final product. If you simply don't like 80% of the entire game, I'd suggest you find yourself a different series, or you start modding Rome II once it's released.
