Icon1 What are your Multiplayer Campaign Plans?

So there's been a lot of threads asking what people will be doing for singleplayer but I haven't seen anyone's plans for multiplayer campaigns.

Who will you and your partner play? Will you be enemies from the get-go? Will you ally yourself with one another only to betray the other later on?

What I decided on doing my first multiplayer playthrough was setting up an alliance with AI factions against my fellow player's own alliance with AI and we agree to not attack eachother nor eachothers allies for as long as possible

Now in order for this to work we will likely choose factions on different ends of the map to minimize the chance our ally nations dont begin fighting too early as we will build up our factions and hopefully help our allies grow before launching an all out war that would look something like this

    (barbarians versus eastern/hellenic forces)

I'm curious what are your plans for multiplayer? so tell me !

No plans here yet but I do hope to find some new friends to play co-op campaigns or just battles, instead of just random people who never agree on tactics or just interested in a win instead of having fun! Having fun and learning new tactics for game play is more important for me, Winning is fun but if you don't win should not effect the fun!, people get upset if they not winning and spoil the fun.

Anyone interested in fun PM me hook up for battles and campaigns!

I feel your pain Osros. It's sometimes tough finding partners who will stick with a campaign finish to end

I'll be in college soon but can play on my downtime between classes so PM your steam tag! Always have time for fun

Me and my bro plan to play a game Tuesday night. I would try and snag Rome but we have not come up with any rules yet. I also joined the TWC Rome 2 clan and will participate in some hopefully epic campaigns will fellow members later in the week after Rome is released. Although my plans are to play Rome all the factions look unique so it will be very hard to pick what to play for my second campaign. Most likely Carthage, Egypt or Iceni since i like the starting positions.

If you're saying that the bottom picture is Hellenic forces fighting "barbarians" then you're wrong.
    It's Romans fighting "barbarians"

But anyway, if I were to play an multiplayer campaign I would choose either Epirus or Pontus and just conquer everything.

Actually, that's almost certainly Romans vs. Romans. The guys on the left are clearly Roman because of the uniformity of their shields, their disciplined formation, the spears they use. While the guys on the right at first glance may appear Barbarian, you can tell that at least the front guy (white shield, spear held aloft) is a Legio Palatina soldier by his shield design, and the men nearest him appear to be too. The other soldiers are probably from Auxilia units.

This sounds like a fresh and new idea for sure

Will you launch a full-scale invasion on Rome the first few turns marching through neutral territories while your friend (Carthage) builds an invasion fleet ? or

Will you both take over surrounding regions/provinces and let Rome build her might up to be a formidable foe when ready to cut her down??

Sounds fun man. Will you build up your forces first and conquer asia minor? Will you call on the aid of your distant Macedonian neighbors ? Surely your Parthian friend will call upon the Seleucid empire for aid against you.

Don't look too far west for if the parthian player is good enough he can sweep down from scythia and finish you off quickly!!!

I have my proper plan! I won't bother the macedonians neither the seleucids, but if he call any factions to his aid, i will beat them.

Hopefully Rome's armies will be seperated around the country or in another country that way i wont have interference. however if i meet a full well prepared army of legionairres, evocati cohorts etc. I dont think ill beat them as Rome is an expert when it comes to open land fighting. If i lose, Athens will come tumbling down with me and our dream of a greco romam empire will be destroyed. We ourselves will get invaded and in a couple of turns our cities will be in the hands of a foreign empire

It's okay with some effort I'm sure you can call on the aid of Macedonian phalanxes to aid in your conquest of Rome. Of course they will require some coin?

HAHA yeah, if the worst comes to worst and my friend and I need our capitals protected we'll call upon Macedonian help however i'm kinda sketchy about Macedon as if they sense our desperation and weakness they might just invade us themselves and earn two rich cities.

This sounds awesome. I've actually never played a human in a battle or campaign before. Would be great to find someone to go against! I like the idea of not going straight for the throat and building up for that final epic clash at the end.
