    Default Wrong client factions

    Client system is interresting but not in all factions.

    Seleucids and Ptolemies should have all territories in one borders. It is completely illogical. Example - Media or Persia didn't existed as factions at that time. It was The Seleucid Empire as one faction.

    There are 117 factions. Without these clients would be more than 100, so there are much factions too. Why CA make them?
    Based on their system Rome should have Samnites faction as client.

    Only one reason to non-playable Seleucids was - too big territory. So we know that Seleucids are smaller than Ptolemies (5 regions for Seleucids and Ptolemies but Seleucids has smaller borders). So why they aren't playable? They are only one of Rome 1 playable faction which now isn't playable.

    I am sure that CA won't change it. We must waiting for mods. Who are interrested to make mod with two factions - Seleucids and Ptolemies without clients?

    Or maybe, the Selecuids will be a DLC faction later on?

    maybe letting selecuids control all of those territories will make them overpowered not a falling empire.

    Is there anything people like about this game? Honestly most of these threads are just bashing either CA or the game that isn't even released yet

    To be honest, this isn't really an important issue, Antiochus.
    This is purely done for gameplay balancing on the campaign map. Plus, more variety if there isn't one faction controlling everything in one corner.

    I believe that the primary purpose for doing this, is that when they release Seleucid DLC, they do not want them to start off to powerful. This way the player must fight through the collapsing client states to reunite the Seleucid Empire, as opposed to starting off with a huge faction that can just steamroll all the other factions in the area.

    I believe it is a pretty cheap way to balance the game. Instead of giving large empires drawbacks and/or making the AI act logically against large empires, thus stopping rapid expansion, they go the easy route; or so I presume. CA also seems to hate the very notion that an empire might collapse in on itself as it never happens in any total war, when you gain power you retain it. I also feel that CA needs to understand that history is not balanced.

    I saw someone else mention it, concerning Carthage, but it made sense to me... Think of them like the 13 colonies in Empire.

    Makes sense for gameplay reasons (as was discussed a while ago when they released the map you could plan your empire on). Next.

    a small nit: both seleucids and ptolemies have 6 regions each at the start date. for ptolemies it's: alexandria, memphis, myos hormos, diospolis, jerusalem and petra. for seleucids: antioch, tyros, palmyra, dura, tarsus and edessa. not sure i understand your point that seleucids are "smaller".

    I'm not sure why the size of the regions has any relevance?
