Well we're well over 200 years off from him being born I think. So, unless they script it, probably not.
CA said game is planed historically till 30 or 40 A.D. so he must be in
Maybe not the historical Octavianus, but you can have the Augustus of the situation, that will be probably the leader of the family you choose at start, after you change from Republic to Empire.
I seem to recall them talking about historical characters popping up, in that campaign map overview thing we saw Julius Caesar and Brutus, maybe that's just because they set it up that way. If there are historical characters then I think we'll certainly see Divi Augusti, or Gaius Octavius rather.
Another thing, I hope all of the appropriate titles are in the game. I want my first emperor to be given the titles of Augustus and Imperator and Princeps.
I'm not quite sure about this. In a way it would ruin the TW experience for me if the same characters popped up in every campaign. I mean, I want to rewrite history not replay it, so I want generals and family members to work as in the previous games, some grow to be great leaders, others to great losers. It's not the name that I want it's the actions, so I might have a general making himself emperor and the doing some ass kicking against his enemies, in a way he will be like Augustus, without being Augustus because its my own character and my own history and settings.
I think there should be certain generals that appear throughout the campaign like Hannibal, Julius Caesar, Vercingetorix, Scipio Africanus, etc. It is the players choice if they want to use the characters so "I want to rewrite history not replay it" is not a valid argument. I play the hell out of the TW series and events like William Wallace or King Harkon appearing in M2TW didn't take anything thing away from the campaigns re-playability. If anything it made the campaign more interesting and put a face on the enemy instead of the bland Ai generals that you usually fight most of the campaign.
I do like how generals have unique models now and think Pyrrhus will make Epirus dangerous to deal with early game if he has high command and a decent army under his command.
I find myself wishing that historical figures will pop up, but then again, like Stoferr said, I don't want the same guys popping up in every campaign. Then it's like I'm watching the clock, waiting for Augustus to appear.
Regardless it is still more interesting when historical characters make an appearance, besides the average player isn't going to play the same faction 50 times.
Factions will still need to have family members and family trees. So you are probably very likely to stumble upon any historical figure that lives within the time frame. The family members who are uncertain, will just be filled with people with common names. But i wouldn't bet that historical figures will trigger any events, but they might have increased stats for whatever they were famous for.
Well if some historical figures r scripted, then in around 60 b.c we should see our Beloved Emperor![]()
I think once a player choose to become empire the faction leader will be name Augustus, though this does not mean Octavian. I don't think the Emperor will be name Caesar though, except if player choose to play as the Julia.
Might be strange if player choose to play as Cornelia and to rename the family to rival claimants after becoming Emperor.
