    Default Ai_Label and Slave_Faction

Hi! I am relative new to this forum (1st post ) and I am having a difficult situation about a problem I encountered while I was installing the Sub-Mod Compilation today(also if this thread has been made before with the same question please forgive me,I have tried to search for an answer but didn't find anything, thank you for your understanding). As always of course,I open the launcher with the administrator option, and choose Gracul AI with no Mercy and BGRV, Grim Reality V, Char. Development, Instanople, Lim. Activities, Live long and prosper, Longer Assimilation, Next Heir Crown, Bad AI battle system-and hardcore and also permanent watchtowers.I am also using the 2 turns per year. But when I click the button to begin the installation,an error window comes up to my screen saying that the BGRV.txt something in Files Data/etc.etc./imperial_campaing/descr.stat does not contain AI_label Slave_faction and it aborts the operation. Then I click the game button to begin the game and it instantly crashes with no notifications.

I managed to find the descr.stat file but it DOES contain the ai_label and slave_faction. Why such a problem then?

When you try to install 10000 submods, conflicts do happen. Reinstall it, and add submods one-by-one, testing compatibility with each step. If you actually understand what each submod modifies then you can reduce the number of steps, but don't try it unless you're really confident that you won't screw things up again.

Basically,I downloaded the Sub-Mod Compilation file which compiles most of the sub-mods together so they can be playable...I still did everything that the instruction told me but I am having conflicts...But now that the files have been installed at the Stainless Steel's folder, should I re-download stainless steel and do the whole process again?

Isn't there anyway for an answer to be found? It has to do with the rebels I believe,it musn't be the mod but instead the faction of the rebels...I am still waiting for an answer even though you gave me some helpful tips.

According to your first post you also installed BGRV. The BGRV installer tells you not to select it with any other submods unless they are known to be BGRV compatible. This is because it takes over and alters some files far more deeply than most mods.

It might well be ok to have meneths compilation and BGRV installed in your installer, but when selecting the game options with BGRV, only choose those that say for BGRV. The exception is the AI. You can select it with any ai, battle or campaign. Again, it tells you all this in the installer or in the installation instructions.

I am just stupid -_-...I just recently found that I had BYGV sub-mod installed...and that made the whole game crash and unable to play. I re-installed SS with the M-Submods Compilation (although this time withouth BYGV mod) and it works perfectly fine. I think it was something with the data files I had replaced from the Byg's sub-mod...Again I am really sorry for making a mess,it was mah mistake all the time !

I once installed 18 submods (for 6.4) and all of them worked normally.

There should be backup copies of the original files, in a folder named "backup", or take the file from the early/late campaign (whichever one you're not running). Overwrite the problematic files (or just undo modified entries) and hopefully the problem is solved. Because you made so many changes to the original set of files, sometimes things go wrong. If you're modding files yourself, then always keep a backup copy. If you're installing submods, then make sure you keep the SS installers in case submods are not compatible and the modified files are not easily unmodified.

Sometimes not everything works out because multiple submods may be trying to modify the same file.
