    Default How to stop Timurids from ever coming to existence?

    Ok, here's the problem, I'm tired of the game game always crashing down when I face timurid war elephant artillery. Its one shot = crash. My question is how do I edit the files to be able to not let them spawn? Also what files do i need to take into consideration so it doesn't mess up the game? Im currently reverted back to ver 1.0.

    That bug is fixed in patch 1.2

    To make timurids never appear go to Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign open descr_events, find timurids_invasion_warn and put a ; in front of the line and save the file. It'll work if you start a new campaign.

    Go attack the Timurid stacks with one unit, open the console by pressing ` and then type "auto_win attacker", and then press autoresolve. Repeat until there's no more Timurids or no more elephant artillery, whichever comes first.

    If the Timurids are the one attacking then type "auto_win defender" and autoresolve.

    About what turn do the Timurids appear? I've passed the 125 turn marker and I feel they're coming soon, but not sure when.

    Between turns 144-152. Build cannon towers and you won't have to worry too much about them. Also, if you don't know, you'll have another surprise starting with turn 133

    Just patch it and it's done, why wouldn't you whant the Timurids?? at that time of the game there isn't really any challenge left... depending of the difficulty ofcourse..

    Didn't you read the post? His game crashes when he fights them.

    I already said the CTD is fixed in the 1.2 patch

    That patch didn't work for me, regarding the Elephant Artillery bug.

    The only fix I found was to remove Elephant Artillery from the game in the campaign files, and buffing the Timurid horde stacks with some more basic elephant units to compensate.

    I also had 1.2 version before until I had the computer reformatted. I just forgot to back up my games so meh. So now i need to download the patch, gonna leave my computer overnight sometimes haha. Thanks for the information.

    Though in 1.2 it still crashes from time to time when elephant artillery are in the scene, makes me wonder, elephant rocketeers don't do that.
