"The HAODS ladies provided us with crowd noise and war cries all around."
I found this article about women who helped record sounds for Rome II.
Does this mean we will get Woman barbaric units, how will they be represented in a historical fashion?

An Agent that destroys enemy troop morale and uh, enchances your own.
The latter either by pleasent or by unpleasant means.
Barbarian women used to push wagons near the end of the battlefield to prevent their men from running away I heard. They could also refuse to wear their skirts and to cook, and leave the babies with the Warriors. A screeching baby in your beard can surely arouse you to that berserker rage the night before the battle, or the night goes completely different.![]()

Female Scythian units?

A few Women unit for the Germanic factions would acutally be cool, as long as they are not overpowered 'just cuz they're kewl'. I mean they should be cheap, weaker than their male counterparts in melee (I would say archery and ranged combat requires less strenght, but it still tuff to wield a strong war bow).
Now this shouldn't happen with Gauls. For Gauls the women were treated with respect but their role was at home, they worked a lot outside too, but never go to war.
This would be somewhat accurate for the Germans because when the Germans invaded Roman lands (Gaul, Italy etc.) this was entire tribes that moved with children and women, and we know their women often fought along with their men, for support matter, providing missiles etc. So why not?
Just NO. It's idiotic.

Probably they recorded voices for some kind of agent and maybe for some very unique unit. Can be a possibility, also for enviromental sound during a siege of a city.
Any person who has an idea of history knows that women had the worst fate during wars in history and there's nothing heroic about that. Not because of anything else - just because they're physically weaker. Not that they're second class human beings or anything like that. Women soldiers were an extremely rare exception. As such, except maybe a couple of scythian units, they don't have any place in a Total War game - there's no basis in history to depict them so, when the reality was different. I don't even know what are female agents doing in the game - the vast majority of women didn't have any political or military influence.

Sassanian are coming!!!!!!
It would be interesting if it was a cimbri unit of baggage train women who buff morale.
If I as Rome attacked a barbarian settlement, I would not be surprised to see a small horde of angry barbarian women charge out to aid their men in the battle.
It was not unheard of for barbarian women to participate in battle when their families were threatened by extinction and slavery.
Even if they were ill-equipped and lacked proper training and skills, they did not lack in spirit, and would often fight to the death.

I think a few of you are misinterpreting what they are saying. I don't think they implied these women were doing voices for barbarian faction units (a la 'Screeching Women', I think they were just saying the woman were becoming barbarian (as in barbaric) for the sound recordings for a game centered on bloody/gruesome ancient warfare.
