I would like to see a few more regions in Greece and a few more factions but this is a start.
With Total War Peloponnese, Corinth will finally be a major player and we will get to see Sparta in all it's glory.
A lot of factions balanced across the map. The first faction I would like to play with would be a minor island faction like Samos or Naxos

Would you like to see this size map, or more surrounding areas like Corsica and Tunisia included?

    (nothing official)

    Edit:
of course not a official DLC. I made this yesterday as a fan made project. Hopefully CA will make this or else maybe as a mod in the future, let me know if you want to help me
Well congrats you did a really good job , perhaps make an Italy map of preroman conquest?

I have been hoping that CA will make a Peloponnesian War expansion. It's a perfect scenario. Great map! Awesome to see others want this as well. Here is a copy of what I suggested for the expansion in another thread:

Peloponnesian War all the way. CA have Thucydides's book to research the **** out of and create a mostly historical campaign setting. They could have one month turns which would equal 324 turns for the 27 year long war. Perfect.

Furthermore, the Peloponnesian War had LOADS of different 'factions' with both Athens and Sparta having many allies/vassal states under their respective Delian and Peloponnesian Leagues. Major playable factions should include:
    - Athens
    - Sparta
    - Macedon - Neutral but eventually against Athens and/or views Athens less favourably than Sparta.
    - Corinth - Allied with Sparta
    - Thrace - Allied with Athens or as a vassal of Athens.
    - One or more of the Sicilian Greeks - 3/4 of the Sicilian Greeks would naturally favour an alliance with Sparta/pro-Sparta, however, If Athens plays its cards right, they can win over some of the powerful Sicilian factions. Sicily can act as sort of a goal for both sides of the war to either capture or ally with for further support.

Other factions such as Thebes or some island Greeks may be playable too to add flavour. While they weren't huge forces in the war, they did influence it enough to shape it.

This was a time of numerous conflicts all around the Greek world. It was total war - a fight to the death with both sides hating each other more and more as the conflict raged on. The campaign could revolve around the two alliances of Athens and Sparta with the early game period focused on both sides trying to win over factions to their cause and expanding their territories and military power. Once the player's faction is powerful enough, a 'realm divide' sort of scenario takes place with one league declaring war on the other, at which point all factions must declare their allegiance to either side.

However, during the 'realm divide period' aka the Peloponnesian War proper, factions can change their allegiance (as which happened in reality) and Athens will have to constantly be policing her island vassals. Athens will no doubt be more of an offensive faction with a campaign difficulty of easy/medium and bonuses in population, wealth and naval power. Sparta will be more defensive with a difficulty of medium/hard with bonuses in troop quality, troop morale and skill level and have stronger diplomatic relations/more loyal allies. Sparta will have the advantage on land with superior troops but Athens will rule the waves and be able to launch attacks at Sparta from the rear. That is not to say Sparta won't have any naval power, they can still put up a fight against Athens at sea, but they may have for example only 2 naval stacks while Athens will have 6 or so and with superior ships albeit with a much larger sea based empire to patrol.

A campaign set up in this way would allow for enormous conflicts between two juggernauts. And with the added improved diplomacy features such as ordering allies to attack cities or join your army, vassals and allies could join the battles between Athens and Sparta, allowing the minor factions to become more involved as they did in reality.

The map could look something like this.

Reasons why the Peloponnesian War is a great idea:

    - Massive use of diplomacy: Will allow CA to use their improved diplomacy features.
    - 2 major powers/sides: CA seem to like this model from Shogun 2 and it works to stop end game boredom from having no powerful enemies left to fight.
    - Spartans are a major player. People love Sparta. Great draw card/great for advertising.
    - Allows CA to implement many minor factions. Each island is practically a separate faction. CA can even include Persia and very early Rome into the game. While not historically directly involved in the war, they may be fun to play although I'd prefer if they weren't because they would spoil the balance of the war as outside invaders. Plus Rome at this time was weak.
    - Allows for seasonal changes with 12 turns per year. Many fans are disappointed with 1 turn years and this can make it up to them.
    - Loads of players love Hellenistic culture. The Greeks, Macedonians, Seleucids etc. They are just as interesting as Rome and can be quite varied.
    - There will still be a mix of cultures: Greek; Ionian and Dorian, Italian Greeks, Italians/Italian 'Barbarians' (in Greek's eyes), Barbarians such as Thrace, Persian, Macedonian.
    - It's a relatively well known war and occurred at the peak of Greek power and cultural prosperity.

Even better map showing what the map should look like:

Notice there are neutral (grey) Greeks who can be swayed to either side (as many of them were historically). The Barbarians (green) can pose an outside threat to all the Greeks (bar Thrace who should be a vassal state of Athens) and Persia, while they should be in the campaign, they should not control as much land as they did historically or at least the map should be cropped so that Persia poses a minimal threat. Persia is the biggest issue for this campaign setting as Athens could simply conquer a nerfed Persia's lands but if Persia is made too powerful they can become a player in what is supposed to be a Greek war. I guess balancing could fix this or CA could make it impossible for the player to attack Persia (and vice versa) only allowing economic and political alliances with Persia as in Persia can fund either league and provide mercenaries for hire.

Fully backing either the Peloponnesian war or the rise of Rome in the early days of the republic for an expansion. However I have a feeling it will be another Empire based barbarian invasionesque expansion as the main game only runs till 9AD.

As much as I like that timeframe of ancient Greek history (I recommend "A War Like no Other" by V.D. Hanson as a starter for reading), I wouldn't appreciate such a mod/DLC so much, for the same reasons I don't like S2TW: restricted units, restricted scenario, rather restricted battle tactics, restricted development, in short: a little bit boring because of the lack of variety.

Yeah, it's one of my favourite historical eras but I'm in the same boat, I think all the phalanxes would get a little boring after a while. But I do really love the time period, so I think an easy way of making it a little more interesting would just be to expand the map out further east and include a century or so earlier in history before the Achaemenids conquered everything, so you've got more Iranian tribes, the Babylonians, Egyptians and so forth. Similar to the Rise of Persia mod for R:TW. That way we get all of the classical Greek greatness but we also get more context for the surrounding areas.

The original map is very impressive, though. Incredibly excited for the modding potential with this game, hope people more talented than me get right into it straight away.

Hmm, not really interested, to many copy paste factions for my taste but I can understand the appeal for others.

In my opion the map should ditch Italy (we allready get a conquest of Italy mini campaign as introduction) and should add the whole Persian empire. That way you can get a nice campaign where you first have to survive in chaotic 4th century BC Greece, then unite it (either under the macedonian banner or with some other city) and finally can taken on the Persian behemoth in an attempt to recreate Alexanders campaign.

I think this setup will have a lot more appeal for the bigger crowd and make for somewhat more variied campaigns. In order to add a little more variation CA could also make persia playable with some cool inter-faction politics where you first have to centralize your power enough, overcome family problems / civil wars and then can try to conquor greece, immidiately triggering a great greek alliance that tries to stop you.

Only issue I noticed so far is the regions of the Thyni and Odrysia are switched.

The Thyni tribe lived at several different places at different times in history and later even imigrated to Asia Minor, but I agree that they can be placed more to the right.
I think the Odrysian kingdom is placed correct from the maps and sources I found.

What an amazing game that is. The level of accuracy of the map is huge. Most cities are in.
Under the patronage of Emperor Maximinus Thrax
"Steps to be taken in case Russia should be forced out of war considered. Various movements [of ] troops to and from different fronts necessary to meeting possible contingencies discussed. Conference also weighed political, economic, and moral effect both upon Central and Allied powers under most unfavorable aspect from Allied point of view. General conclusions reached were necessity for adoption of purely defensive attitude on all secondary fronts and withdrawing surplus troops for duty on western front. By thus strengthening western front [those attending] believed Allies could hold until American forces arrive in numbers sufficient to gain ascendancy."
