After watching this, I know which faction I am going to play as.
First thing I will do is provoke a civil war (if possible) and get rid of those traitorous Carthaginian councilmen.
Then, it is onward to Rome!
What faction will you be playing first?

That program is quality!
Yeah, get rid of those councilmen haha. Carthage has an equivalent to the Roman senate-system so it would be possible to overthrow I'm thinking
Still hard to say who I'm going to be playing as.
I personally invite you to check out my complete combat overhaul which will give you a completely new Rome 2 experience:

It's a good movie this one, seen in it before, BBC are good at historical drama. Just a shame that they didn't throw that arrogant piece ofRoman ambassador into a gigant pit of death screaming: "This is Carthage", that would have been awesome.
It's called a motion picture in English.
Great piece of film.
Was surprised to see Rose's dad playing Scipio Africanus.
I shall lead Carthage's armies to sack and salt Rome, this I swear on Hannibals memory.
Pompey Magnus doing the voice-over at the start...
I say that they should expand this film and turn it into an HBO series like Rome. But instead of all of the city aspects that Rome had (like less emphasis on the city of Carthage) and more on the actual Punic Wars. Sort of like the Three Kingdoms show where we see generals planning and scheming and trying to figure out each other's plans (sort of like a big chess game... except people die). They should put more emphasis on the rivalry between Scipio and Hannibal kind of like they did in the 1970 film Waterloo.
Too bad you'll only have about 30 turns with Hannibal before he either retires or dies of old age haha.
I saw, I bought, I played
I'm just taking a stab at the 1 tpy feature. I know that historically, Hannibal was exiled. Would be awesome if CA could randomly 'force spawn' historically famous generals who have higher than average military abilities upon coming of age. What I mean is, considering that there will be a Julli family, a member with the name Gaius Julius Caesar could be randomly spawned even in 200 BC.

We are of a like mind, my friend
Come on now, Hannibal doesn't need to waste his whole life fighting the Romans.
If the Carthiginian councilmen were more cooperative and actually sent him reinforcements when he asked, Rome would have fallen within a matter of a few years.
As it was, during his 10-year campaign in Italy, Hannibal received no aid at all from back home - not in supplies, in reinforcements, nor in intelligence.
But history shall not be repeated... Rome will burn, and thereafter Hannibal shall comfortably retire. And who knows?
He might even conquer half of Europe, if he fancies it![]()
Carthage actually did send hannibal reinforcements, including elephants, once, but preferred to send men to Iberia. So Hannibal's army was still overstretched in trying to defend nearly all of southern Italy. I see the real moment Hannibal lost was when his Brother Hasdurbal's army was intercepted and destroyed. If after over a decade of being unable to wipe out Hannibal, the arrival of another new Carthaginian army of that size would have been a serious blow to Rome. But alas, it was not to be...but in Rome 2, it shall be. Ready my elephants!
As rome and i will salt Carthage.
Rome will conquer its former glory again
Veritas Temporis Filia
I'll play Rome first, but I do look forward to the improved barbarians. They were most disappointing in Rome 1.
