Default Rome II Trojan Expansion/Mod?-or-Historical battle?

Now, I don't know about you guys but i would really like a trojan expansion or mod for Rome 2 even though i understand it may be very difficult as the siege of Troy and Troy itself are both fictional so creating a campaign would be pretty hard. I also know it's not exactly historical but I believe that they could easily create a siege of troy historical battle without much effort. Just some thoughts for any Modders and/or skinners out there. Maybe in the future Creative Assembly could consider making a historical battle based on the siege of Troy.

The city of Troy is not fictional, she was discovered many years ago, she is known to have been attacked since the traces of what appears to be a huge fire were found. We juste don't know how long the conflict lasted.
But even if I would love a mod with trojan and greeks cities I would prefer a mod related to the classical era of Greece.
The description Last of the Romans (Ultimus Romanorum) has historically been given to any man thought to embody the values of Ancient Roman civilization —values which, by implication, became extinct on his death. It has been used to describe a number of individuals.
Flavius Belisarius (505?–565), one of the greatest generals of the Byzantine Empire and one of the most acclaimed generals in history. He was also the only Byzantine general to be granted a Roman Triumph.

First of all, how many threads do we need about mods and expansions when the game isn't even out yet?

Second, as Flavius said, Troy was not fictional, but exactly what happened there is still not known.

I'm happy without TROJANS on my PC .. But seriously Troy was a very important city with an excellent position to controll the trade between europe and asia and between the black sea and the mediterranean sea. This means money and money (like today) means power. In its time Troy seems to have been a real major power but this was centuries before the starting point of ROME II. So maybe a standalone expansion next year???

Well then, this is great news! Since it existed people could create a sort of mod on Troy or historical battle on the siege of Troy as we roughly know where it used to exist on the map.

The Iliad is probably set over a thousand years before Rome 2. I know that there's a habit to think of everything "ancient" as being all the same, but there's really not much continuity. It would be a huge overhaul of the game to do the Bronze Age justice.

There have been very good mods for Rome I set in that era, such as Aristeia.

General conclusions reached were necessity for adoption of purely defensive attitude on all secondary fronts and withdrawing surplus troops for duty on western front. By thus strengthening western front [those attending] believed Allies could hold until American forces arrive in numbers sufficient to gain ascendancy."

Troy is real, the actual Trojan War from the illiad was fictional. There was a war, but we don't know the detail. Homer was blind, he told the stories verbally, in time who knows what people added to it

, I'd love to see troy as a Province or city with semi unique roster. Specializing in hoplites, good archers, and amazons. .. Yes, they had amazons lol

Troja has nothing to do with the game, especially because there are so much really important battles in this time frame we know about. Troja wasn't close to the roman timeframe, also the trojan war we know is fictional - prove otherwise. There are enough battles/events which should be considered as expansions. A fantasy story is not necessary.

Some details were fictional, but the Iliad offers useful information on the participating states, their Kings and their number of ships.

The Trojan War was very real. Don't get confused from the fact that Homer told the story as an "Epos". Many historians, such as Barry S. Strauss have attempted to recreate the events of the Trojan War.

    Aristeia

I second this. It definitely has a unique atmosphere to it and even though the heroes can be clunky, and there is no heavy cavalry, it is astounding work. Having Odysseus slaughter entire armies by himself has never been so much fun!

Many thanks to the good folks down at the Graphics Workshop for the sig.

Not really, there's not enough information to warrant a fully fleshed out DLC of the period in my opinion.

Wouldn't be a very epic campaign - just a Greek coalition trying to invade Troy. Sounds more like a specialist mod or 'historical' battle.

I don't think we know enough about it, apparently the siege itself took something like 20 years. I'm pretty sure CA only deals in fact not partial fact or fiction (Screeching Women and Head Hurlers aside).

Not sure how excited id be about a game which is just a siege of one city...

This sounds like a mod idea...... For a DLC that I am going to spend money on this does not sound very attractive. All it would consist of would be a few Greeks getting on a boat, going to Troy and taking the city. End of Story.
