    Default Environment Art of RTWII

The Environment art department of CA has done a majestic job , I really love how they recreated the ancient atmopshere with the buildings and the landscapes they have worked on .

I woudl like if CA allowed also some of those artists or the lead environment artist to share some informations or some details on what they are doing , have done or the like , just like Lusted does with the units ...

After all what woudl be Rome II with only units without the battlefield backgrounds to play in ?

I would like to see a randomly generated battlefield first, will there be roads, fields, buildings etc. Or will they be the same bland 2 hills and wide empty plains of Shogun 2. Historical battle maps have always had a lot more detail to them.

I loved the atmosphere of Teutoberg Forest, I know it's a map tailor made with the scenario in mind, but if the generic land battles in northern Europe are anything like that, I will be a very happy man.

That's a concept artist , nevertheless also he did an Amazing Job as well, the concept art is also one of those things I am enjoying a lot and I have no complains about , actually the historical figures are even more detailed precise and better than the same game units lol .

    Good thread, Prom

One thing I would really like to see is the battle maps when you are not in a battle. Say like, you are planning a home defence strategy and want to know what the most beautifullest spots in your territories for standing your ground are, just zoom in and have a look like city view. Perfect tool for home defence is picking your location. Usually in history, those who chose where their battles would be fought where the victors. I would hate to have to fight a battle on a certain area to know what the battle map would like.

I know the entire campaign map is a tile but nothing beats having a look for yourself in greater detail

Yeah landscape (especially the things in the background, which are now based on the actual campain map) will be better then ever.

Really like the glimpses I've seen so far of the buildings also. Graphically I have no doubt this game will blow my mind.

Teutoburg with sun shining through trees is still one of my highlights of all the previews we've seen!!

Nothing compared to Cartage siege , but I was a bit disapointed by The Nile battle video , not that there was anything wrong at all , but that big hill fight didn't seemed pic at all .

Still we didn't see any special focus on it , also interesting woudl be how they reconstructed famous buildings and wonders.

How about if they made a City of the week ....

instead of one unit per day they could show off one city per week :

    Namely :

    Carthage

    Alexandria

    Lupfurdum

    Rome

Just because those are the ones showed mostly in videos, but this time they could show in details the buildings, the environment art around , the different special buildings, the resources around , how it looks ingame etc etc?
