This mod will cover the period from the founding of the Republic until around 200BC. This is a revival of the mod Early Rome Total War that was posted here earlier and we have started some skinning work and historics work but it has been kind of dead lately so I need you to join the building of the Republic. In this mod, you will have to throw out the King and his army from Rome with your modest Rebel army to found the Republic.

Here are some descriptions for factions that we are planning to include.
The Senones:
The Senones were a late Gallic tribe, one of the last to settle in the Italian region. However, of the Gallic peoples in the region, the Senones had a profound effect. The Senones arrived in Italy around 400 B.C. and quickly set up their cities. They settled in the region around Ariminium and Ancona. (aka Ager Gallicus) and founded their capital there, Sena Gallica or Sinigaglia. From there the Seonones attacked the Etruscans at Clusium. The Etrsucans appealed to the Romans for support and got it. The Senones won an important victory against the Romans at Allia and managed to capture and sack Rome itself. For the next 100 years the two people fought desperatly, until in 283 when the Senones were finally driven away and their capital was made a Roman colony. From then on history loses the Senones, who altogether disappeared, they are rumored to have joined other Gallic tribes and to have migrated towards Macedonia and the other Balkan regions.
The Ligurians:
The Ligurians, like many Gallic peoples, were more a confederation of tribes than an actual people. Although the Ligurians were much more closely related and made up of fewer tribes than most Gallic nations were. The cheif tribes of the Ligurians were the Apuani and the Friniates. Both resisted Roman rule until roughly 177 B.C. Though the Ligurians lost their coastal cities to the Romans rather easily, they perservered against the Romans in the long run. Instead of fighting large battles with many of the tribes present the tribes split up more and kept to small guerilla-style wars. Thereby keeping the Romans spread out enough to prevent an easy occupation. The Romans eventually used mass deportation and sold thousands into slavery in an effort to keep the guerilla fighters at bay. This tactic brought about the end of the Ligurians as a people, forcing them to resist as small tribes and cities.
