Having trouble installing Kingdoms/updating from v1 to v1.3

I recently bought Medieval 2: Kingdoms, but when I was installing it, I had to shut down the window that was updating my Medieval 2 from v1 to v1.3 for another reason while it was getting close to completion. When I tried to re-install it, it told me that "This 1.03.000 update cannot be applied to the 1.00.000 version of the game." I've re-installed Medieval 2 twice already, but it still won't let me install Kingdom's past this point. I'd appreciate any help that you can give me!

Assuming Vista or Win 7/8, disable the UAC and install in C:\Games.
