Can't find Kingdoms exe.

My Med ii and Kingdoms both work. My path is: C:\ProgramFiles\Sega\Medieval ii Total War. What should my path be to install Paeninsula Italica ii? I keep getting Windows can't find Kingdoms exe. Im using WXP. ive tried everything and I can't get the mod to work. Plese help?

Are you logged in as Administrator?
Did you move your Medieval2 folder after installing it?

Sorry if I sound stupid but where do you move the MEDii folder To the desktop or where? Im logged to the ADMIN.

Don't move it. Sometimes Windows loses things when they get moved.

Long time since I had XP so I may miss something.

Have you set the mod's installer to "Run as Administrator"?

i have now after reinstalling the mod. A message saying: Medieval 2 Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit. I have both of the dics and I have a download from AMAZON and they both give me the same problem.

Now, that sounds like a bad install/download.

Is Amazon's a download? Have you installed the 1.5 Kingdoms patch to either install?

No I havn't installed the 1.5 patch. Do you install it the same way? To the path I specified. I was wondering, Could I use the path like C:games... and reinstall Med2/King.s. to that path or is that only for w7? Im running out of ideas. I had this mod and the IB2 mods before and they both worked. Using the download from Amazon and then using the GOLD dics.

It's supposed to read the registry where to install the patch. So far after all these years it has not failed finding it and I have installed the game in other folders and even on other drives.

A lot of mod installers aren't this smart including Clickteam's free version. I have learned this the hard way.

I have also installed mods in a temp folder so I could check the contents without it being in my mod folder.

Im going to delete my installs and I will try reinstalling M2/KIND. again and see what happens. If this doesn't work, I will give up and play my RTWMODS or SHO2. Instead. Thanks Irishron for your help.

Again I reinstalled med2/kingdoms. All those mods work. I donot know how to install the 1.5 patch to kingdoms. Ive tried to install pi2 and ib2 britainnae and I either get can't find kingdoms exe or the game starts and crashes back to desktop. So do you have anymore suggestions. Thanks. PS. I want most of all, to beable to play DE BELLO MUNDI when its available. It calls for the 1.5 patch for kingdoms.

Did you install all four Kingdoms campaigns?

Are you trying to patch the disc version or the Amazon version?

I restalled the dics version. All four campaigns worked. I dl the 1.5 patch. I used the setup and now if I click on any four campaigns except MED 2, i get a popup saying retry wrong disc inserted. I get the same results with either dics. I used the UK patch 1.5. from the TW CENTER.

Is it the Gold Edition or the non-Gold version?

What language is on the game's box?

I guess I used the non gold. The UK I will try the GOLD UK next. Whew.. I got all 4 campaigns showing 1.5 in options menue. Should I now try DL and installing a mod to see if will work?

1.5 showing in options windows? Leave alone. You're good to go.

I DL and installed PI2 ITALICA. I still get that popup saying MED2 encountered a problem and must exit. I still have the 1.5 showing for all four Kingdoms campaigns.

Odds are it's the mod. If you can start the four campaigns, it's not them or medieval2.exe.

Have you tried a frsh install of the mod?
Have you set the mod's installer "Run as Administrator"?
Have you checked the mod's htread/forum to see if anyone else has had this issue?

I did everything that you prescribe and still get the same results. I have noticed one thing, every time I reinstall NED2\KIND., A previous IB2 folder pops up in my mods folder. And its listed at the bottom of my launcher. I deleted all those IB2 files on my HD, and they reappear evey time I reinstall MED2\KING.

in regedit, ctrl-f and unofficial should help you find them.

irishron, I finally got it to work. I put a new cfg file, and I put into my PI2 folder, now it works fine. Thankyou for your help and being very patient with me. Please close this thread.
