Default How do I know what date it is on a campaign?

So I'll describe my current situation:

I'm playing a short campaign as England on M2TW vanilla version, with no mods at all and no edits made to the files. On the campaign map, including all the bits below and above it (e.g. the rectangle at the bottom of the screen where you can see what units you have in an army, for example) there is no date shown- I don't know if this is a bug or if it is meant to be like this.

I have looked through all of the menus while on the campaign map/screen and I still can't find the date- I can see everything else fine, such as diplomacy, and how the pope feels about me, but there seems to be no mention of the date anywhere.

    1) Am I doing anything wrong/has anything gone wrong?
----1a) If so, how do I fix it?
    2) How do I tell the date while in my current scenario?
----2a) I have looked where the date is shown on some mods such as Third Age Total War (I do not have ----------this installed, but I have seen YouTubers play them) and the date is not there. Is that a problem?
    3) Does a long campaign make any difference to this (i.e. can the date be seen in a long campaign easily?)

Ignore the lines above, on question 2a, my keyboard went a bit off and I didn't see this before I posted (the lines showing indentation are intentional, though). Apologies.

When you reload your savegame, it shows the year. That, I know for sure. But I think, it also shows on the screen where the winning conditions are mentioned. At least, it should show you how many turns you got left to achieve the goals.

The reason CA didn't make the year more transparent is that time advances 1,5 years per turn. So, if they showed the year, it would go: 1070, 1072, 1073, 1075, 1076, 1078... not so great...

It's meant to be like this in vanilla.

The date is mentioned in the faction summary scroll. (Shortcut is letter O ), just above victory conditions.

Some mods use some settings in the cfg that make the number below the end turn button represent the year instead of the turn number and/or show the hud date (above the minimap).

No. It's 2 years per turn.
