    Default devastation and ai rebuilding

    I tried a new strategy. I would take a city, destroy any buildings of military value, and leave. Problem is: that the AI rebuilds all destroyed buildings in 1 turn!

    Is there a way to modify this as it is very unrealistic.....

    Also, other than an enemy army in a providence, is there another way a city can have devastation?

    In carthage, I don't see any enemy armies, but devastation is around 100. No spies or assasins in city....

    What difficulty level? And is this just vanilla RTW with what patch?

    BI 1.6 with Goth's all factions mod. Although I modified it very heavily. Gave Romans back Britian and a few minor changes. Playing Western Roman Empire Settings were hard/very hard.

    I took a city in Africa from ERE. Did scorched earth policy. Left, ERE reoccupied it. Next turn, city had all previous buildings.....

    It could be a feature of the mod or a feature of very hard difficulty. Or your modding might of somehow made that happen. I don't know. Sorry

    Try doing it on a vanilla game, to isolate variables.

    you can rebuild damaged buildings and retrain depleted units in one turn by default

    Not if you demolish the buildings though. (By demolish, I mean right-click on the building in the campaign map and click the demolish button, not as in shoot the building up with onager rocks.)
