Default Will I be able to play Rome 2 from China?

    Hi guys,

No I am not from china but have to go for work to china for 6 months, and would like to ask if someone knows if i am able to play with steam and Rome 2 Total War from there. I have preordered in the UK but will be going already in August to China and wondering if I can even download or even update the game via Internet there.

    Thanks

Living in Shanghai, I can say that you will have occasional issues connecting to Steam. However, if you use a VPN, you can set it up to connect through that without any problems.

Not that easy I'm afraid, the game engine isn't built for that. If you do a 40v40 unit battle you can sometimes see the restriction on the AI.

I want that, but I'm afraid the city power station won't be able to run it.

I'll be moving back to the US at the end of October, but I'll be more than happy to answer any questions. An hour from Shanghai, eh. Is that Nanjing, Ningbo, or Hangzhou?

Does this mean that there is a special version of the Greek culture pack only for Chinese market with only Sparta and Epirus playable? Athens would not even be on the map

I thought that an hour from Shanghai was a suburb of Shanghai... Anyway, I don't think you will have any problems playing Rome 2. After all China is not depicted in any way, so the game can't be banned because of foul and wrong western capitalist depiction of China.

As for computers and Internet - China has a lot of computers, but their internet is not the same as the Internet we have in the west. just like the one we have in the West - the difference is that the Chinese censor what can be seen by the public, whereas in the West it's not censored - it's monitored.
