I have an 5.1 surround sound system from Teufel (means 'devil', a German surround set in HQ). It works very good with my computer, Win 7 and VIA HD Audio, a 6.1 sound system onboard. In games I have full surround sound - that really rocks!

The problem with Medieval 2 is I only can choose 'Miles Fast 2D Pos. Audio' under Audio Settings. Hence I have no surround sound. When I select e.g. Creative Labs EAX 2 (TM) an error message says: 'Unable to activate Sound Provider, this could be due to lack of hardware support'.

I understand the game is over 6 years old and my hardware is too new. But perhaps anyone knows a solution? Perhaps a driver may emulating Creative Labs sound?
