Icon5 MTWII Mods and Windows 8?

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had any success with running mods with win 8? Stainless Steel barely runs and tends to crash on the start of battles. I downloaded DLV but when I extract it to my MTWII folder it doesn't even show up anywhere. And just tried Lands to Conquer and it said I needed to upgrade my OS to at least Win 98 lol!!! I know about the UAC problems but I already have this disabled, so is there any decent mod out there that runs smoothly with win 8? I've tried looking through threads on the relevant mod forums but it only seems to talk about Vista and win 7!

I run Windows 8 Pro and I've never had any problems with Mods for Medieval 2. I play Stainless Steel, The Third Age and DarthMod all the time with no major issues. I installed them onto my 2nd drive so I don't have no problems with VirtualStore or UAC but I've not tried DLV or Lands to Conquer. If you have a 2nd drive, try reinstalling the game and mods there. Otherwise, the only thing I can suggest is removing the games and mods, get the latest drivers for your GFX card and reinstalling. Soz I can't be of more help.

Not only disable the UAC but also be sure you are logged in as Administrator, take ownership of C: drive, and set the respective icons/shortcuts to "Run as Administrator" and "XP Compatible".
