Third age not working!

i load it up and it lets me play for a tiny bit, then bam straight back to desktop a unexpected error!
i changed my time zone.
i deleted geography files ect.
please please help

Hi there and welcome to TWC Forums!

To answer your PM, first we need you to answer these few questions, cause they are needed for us to give you the correct instructions:

1. What Windows do you have, Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 or 8 ?

2. Your M2TW/Kingdoms are STEAM, or non steam version ( DVD, retail - this means you didn`t need to install STEAM just so you can install and play this game ) ?

3. Have you installed all four Third Age Installers ( TATW 3.0 part 1 and part 2, TATW 3.1 Patch, TATW 3.2 Patch ) ?

4. You haven`t installed any other submod for TATW, this is just a problem with the Third Age ?

im on windows 8, i have steam, i downloaded all the 4 installers. taking me 7hours because i wanted to do it properly. and no submods installed either

Ok, go here to this Thread ( LINK ), and, do these steps which are explained there in that thread ( it has pictures with the explanation ):

1. Edit the security for your main Medieval II Total War folder ( ..Steam/steamapps/common/ Medieval II Total War ) ... you don`t need to unhide hidden folders or check the Virtual Store, that is for NON STEAM Users.

2. Remove currently failed Installation of Third Age TW from your ...Steam/steamapps/common/ Medieval II Total War / mods folder ( it depends on what installation method you used for installing Third Age, if you used the one with renaming one of your Kingdoms campaign folders, then, just delete the RENAMED folder where Third Age files are located )

3. Install all four TATW Installers as shown in the pictures - STEAM INSTALLATION FOR Third Age TW, or, use one of those other methods mentioned there.
Installation paths are very important, be sure to double check them when installing!

4. For battle crashes you have already disabled daylight saving settings, but, if you stil experience battle crashes for ALL Battles, then, delete two descr_geography_new files ( .db and .txt ) in your ...Steam/steamapps/common/ Medieval II Total War / mods / FOLDER WHERE Third Age is located / data folder.
