It'd be interesting to post here a model (even basic) made with each software, just for comparaison

it would take days my friend.i also dont ve all the 3d softwares loaded in my computer.
nowadays i ve been using softimage 2015.only that program installed in my computer for now.
but about comparison of 3d softwares best one for organic models zbrush.best one for hard surface such as weapons, cars, planes, swords, vehicles 3dstudio max.
but if u ve good knowledge on blender u can make similar results.
but my favourite is softimage, i like ui and workflow of that.
No worries, I was just asking out of curiosity. I understand
And yes, I agree about ZBrush. I wish to have a PC able to handle it

Its very frustrating that none of the 3d general package is not even close as being satisfactory and selfsufficient and what is even more confusing today is the direction in which these softwares are heading to so hard to make a decision on which to learn more intensively.
Anyway Ive come to ask you a favor since there are very few capable modelers left here on TWC. One of my main incentive to start learning 3d was the historical helmets design. I did model a couple of the more simple ones but didint had the courage to start with some more elaborate stuff. A particular tricky and difficult part for me is when doing the cheek/face guards of hellenistic helmets and trying to get some high fidelity results with the references. They have at least 2 angle curvatures and they have to fit/enclose nicely on the bearer face. Can you make a short tutorial (no voice needed) on how you would model these parts. That would be very welcomed and I think there arent so specific tutorials here on TWC.
Here are some references regarding two types pf cheeck guards Im trying to model:
the so called Thracian Copais variation

which 3d software u use?
for which mod u work for?
I have acess to Maya and Blender, but Ive strate din 3ds max. Cannot install it here on a low laptop, I was surpised I can do it with maya, though I have to use an old vieport engine and stay away from rendering and such lol. I dont work for any mod since I want to learn first.
I also have access to 3ds max now. I managed to run it in compatibility mode with the legacy open GL for viewport.
