I love RTR. A couple of things bothered me though.
Some of the Province boundaries were historic only for a certain set of years ( not the modders fault, of course, praise be unto them). I decided to fix this, especially around the Danube area. Ratiaria has been moved so that the river crossign can be defended. Now the whole Danube can be used as an effective frontier by the roman army, as it was historically. See below.
Whilst fixing the Danube, I realized that the Rubicon was missing. The Rubicon marked the border between Gallia Cisalpina and Italy proper, until this border was erased by Augustus in 42 BC. However, in light of its importance for almost 400 years of roman history, and since it was the border for a good 240 years (480 turns) of teh game I hav eincluded it in its historically accurate position. See below.
Lastly, the two things that bothered me most about the "new and improved" AI was that Carthage and Illyria constantly sent 3 guys on a rickity boat every 2 turns for 75 years till I wiped them both out of the face of the map out of sheer annoyance. I have fixed this, and it no longer happens. Carthage and Greece do, however, reinforce themselves in Sicily.
I also added Recruitable Roman generals (in Rome only, to simulate Republican system)
The other thing was the Makedonians. I managed to slow down their rise to power without emasculating them altogether. They play surprisingly like a human opponent in their consolidation and expansion.
This is a direct add on to RTR 1.6 for the BI. Oh, and not savegame compatible, but you'll want to start as new one anyway.
Here it is. If anyone is interested in this mod, Ill release it. Just wanted to let you guy sknow about some tweaks that will greatly improve gameplay.

P.S. The file has been updated. It Now includes the Naval fix.
