[Discussion] Cataloguing social groups

This is an administrative task. The goals and the means to do it are not clear. You have posted the need of having administrator and moderator powers to end the task. I understand that old amdinistators and moderators tend to keep on doing the same work the used to do in their previous offices. And people may feel this is not a quite interesting thing to do. I would rather move this thread to the Fórum Magnum, there you can ask all the TWC members to help (more members with spare time and maybe more qualified) so those complaining about the CVRIA will have the chance to help on this.

What I've done so far requires the permissions of a Full Member, that is anyone with 25 posts or more and has been registered for more than a week. That gives you the crucial ability to edit your own posts and post urls.

Well more reasons to move it to the Fórum Magnum. There all full members can do what you have done so far, from then on it is moderation and administration task.

I think any project, except those who have exclusive content made for the CVRIA, should be held there.

Why once in Fórum Magnun don't you post in CVRIA comentary thread so you can promote there the recruitment of new members of the project? despite the criticism people there (or it shows that) seems to be willing to do something.

Well, so much for wanting the Curia to be somewhat relevant to the wider site. I won't be trying to move staff work or responsibilities into the Curia in the future, and I think I'm the last of the pro-Curia staffers.

The only project that was carried on was the Product Review, why? because it was a GeD proposal, of course none in the staff complained about this.

This is clearly an administative and moderation focused project. If you want help of full member, which citizens are, move it to the Fórum Magnum. I have no idea of what you have said in your offices but the result of the global policy of the staff toward the CVRIA is what it has been. In the committees you can say what ever you want in favor of a policy, but that does not matter at the end when the policy decided by the committee has the oposite sign. It is not a judgement about you but about the global situation. I am hard worker, and I am fed up of the criticism put over the CVRIA. I have been made artifex by my work, which has been much, because of this I am part of the CVRIA and I am astonished of the lack of use we are giving to the CVRIA potential. I do not have any idea of moderation and administrative task so my ideas do not go that way, but it does not stop me from having ideas about what to do. We are 40-50 voters in elections, we have to increase the number of active members. The lack of people in your project is not surprising at all. What did you expect? We have to increase the number of active members so any project may be maned more adecuately. This has to be an interesting fórum with things to do apart from elections amendments and CDC work, to be atractive for its members to participate.

The addition of projects, as yours, is good and it is part of the solution, but the actual situation will not make it easy. I have seen some members in this very thread willing to participate on it, even one has added his work to yours. If we had more active members for sure you would find more people colaborating on this. But this is a discussion thread, Fórum Magnum is more adecuate place and it will promote the particiption of full members that later due to the contribution may be made citizen so the numbers here increase so more projects and so on...

I understand that limits have to be put on the roles each body make, but then the limits have to be present when we talk about the other bodies not acting over them.

I have proposed three projects in the CCT debate, none has answered in this fórum, just one person, a very commited member of this TWC and of the CVRIA via reputation. If people do not like them, why don't they say it? Two of them are to be held in the Fórum Magnum, so what I propose you is not an exile of your project or a despising
Passport to Fórum Magnum. Maybe we see us there.

A number of the publications content staff have, were started in the Curia initially. If someone was looking at the possibility of starting one, they could try and find people in here and give it a go. If content staff can support in some way, then we could do so. So long as it's a case of working with staff, as opposed to competing with staff, then no problem.

I do agree with you that more numbers are needed in the Curia. I think changes are needed to make it easier to get citizenship, but be the same requirements as currently to get a citizen badge. Sounds contradictory, but late next week I shall explain this idea fully.

Anyway, back to the specifics of cataloguing social groups. I can throw a few hours of my time into the pot to do a batch for you pann. What's there like 900ish groups? If we split that between a few of us, this task could be done before you know it.

You know that I was hoping for volunteers from those who've never been in staff, so that we could get a larger pool of people who are prepared to work for the site. I expect to finish the 200+ in games by the end of today.

Pick one and do it. Note: each time you edit your post, you'll be calling on the showthread function. For threads with a lot of material, it can be extremely slow, even if you separate them into different posts like I've done with the previous page. I don't know if things will be quicker on a different page (you can test it on this page), but bear that in mind and figure out a workable solution.
