Swords don't kill people, people with swords kill people.
Hm, I once fought with a few Carthaginian against a myriad of Lusotannan units. I retreated from a battle, my troops battered, but another enemy army caught up with me. I think the numbers were 5:1 against me. In the end all my infantry routed, I was left with one unit of Light Iberian cavalry and my FM bodyguard. All remaining units were exhausted by then. What I did was use a double anvil charge - since I had no infantry to pin the enemy. I charged from the front and as soon as the enemy was standing still to fight my FM bodyguard, I charged in from the back. By the last unit I was so coordinated that I could place my cavalry and wait until the enemy was at the right distance, then ordered attack for both units simultaneously and they would hit at the exactly right time.
I think my FM got a special religious oath from the Iberian tribes after that battle, basically making him a living god. It's nice to be appreciated.![]()
