CTD random mania

So i didn't played this mod for ages ( i forgot why ,but now i remembered).
I have completly random crashes..in battle, end turn and most of them on campaing map..my pc is enough for RTW ( i play shogun 2 with med.)
So? Any solutions? i saw many problems and threads like this unresolved.
I have unit shaders on.

A CTD free campaign is achievable. I haven't had a CTD in well over 6 months.

hmm..i read that thread but none of those happenned to me just the one that rtw simply died..and all my mods strangely stopped to work..but now is not the case..atleast when the CTD occurs in battle i can re-enter the battle because my game is still responding..

well when the crash occurs my game go to the start bar..when it happens on the campaing map i cant go back to the game because it says that it's not responding but when in battle , it appears the loading bar in the black screen and voila! , again on the battlefield,

Do you have an antivirus program running? Connected to the internet while you play? Do you play in windowed mode?

i have microsoft security essentials..and yes , i play in windowed mode.

Sounds like something is popping up while you are playing causing the eventual ctd (when on the campaign map).

something like that but nothing is on desktop when it happens...
Now i saw something..m2tw also do this..i probably got a virus recently?

I don't think a virus would cause this. Have you tried playing while not on the internet? Is RTW the only program running while playing? Because you are able to re enter battles, i am almost positive that some program or process, is popping up occasionally and causing the program to minimize. You might not be able to see what pops up.

i give up..i just defetead hannibal after 40 min battle and it crashed for no reason...probably, at the next version the game will get rid of dozens of bugs that creates crashes and CTD and will allow players to can click the show-me-how when the campaign starts....

Have you not been clicking the portrait of the adviser when loading a game?

the portrait yes..i click it everytime but i read somewhere that i have to click the show me how button

One thing that can cause problems is that some services are running in the background - these can minimize the game while you're still playing it.

You can either look at the services that are running by using msconfig and stop them from starting or you can use something like IOBITs Game Booster (here). I did use game booster a while ago but not recently. It can close down a lot of Windows services that you don't need running while a game is running. It's also free!
