    Default Reasons for Violence

Violence has been completely engrained in human society and the collective human pysche for thousands of years? Why? Why is a Man a violent creature, are we violent by nature, or is our violence artificial, something for outside, is it because of greed, or just because? My theory is that the Human race is just naturally violent towards other living creatures. It comes from our predatory past, we were hunters in ages long past, and that violent instict has become ingrained in our minds. That is why I think Humanity is such a violent people, any other thoughts or theories?

I'm sure it has to do with the concept of hunting and survival. :hmmm:

Pride, anger, compulsion... many things cause violence, it's not just 'our instinct'. For pride, you might hit someone who made you look bad in front of a lot of people, compulsion, someone attacks you, you automatically fight back, anger, someone ****es you off. It's so complex why we do things, there is never one reason.

Early homonids had to survive by being violent, aggressive hunters and fighters. Our violence and brutality, combined with our cunning and intellect, led to us being the ruling animals of this planet. That certain aspect of our species has simply never escaped us. Probably because we keep using it.

    As long as there are

jealousy, hate, love, compassion, friendship, debate, argument....and so on , basically "feelings".

    as long as there

    someone with an extra penny

    longer hair,

    bigger car

    bigger house

    bigger penis

    prettier wife

    and so on

violence will stay . and that means forever, unless we all become robots with no feelings and everyone will look same and have the same amount of everything. But then, humanity as a species and intelligent life will cease to exist.

I think Archer provides the best answer; man is by nature in it for the maximal profit and if violence can increase and augment the said profit its a useful tool, if it can win us possessions or defend them we will use it without thought.

First off all, Archer, I would not be violent towards someone with a larger penis...

And then if we look at nature we see that all species have violence engraved somewhere in their essence. One species cannot renounce violence because first the intellectuals are constantly under threat from other individuals and second because the species itself is under threat ans must protect itself. Maybe the second argument is a bit obsolete when talking about humans but the first one is still very much alive. It would be a shame to see most of us tame only to have a few that retain their violent edge rule us all...

    Reasons for Violence
violence is not something invented by humans
so how can u blame MAN THAT HE IS VIOLENT
violence is always present where their is lifeform

infact its only the man who has manged to reduce his inherrent violent nature {due to hunting and survival.} due to education and civilization

A man who can't commit violence won't survive a week as hunter-gatherer. Hunting animals and slaughtering them is violence: robbing your neighbour to feed yourself is violence. Fighting with neighbour tribes for more territory (Lebensraum) is violence. Without violence, there wouldn't be the 'survival of the fittest'.
