    Default Vassal in R2TW

Recently, I started to replay S2TW while waiting for R2TW. I picked Oda then immediately make Tokugawa and Saito my vassals.
As the time gone by, my vassals start to grow in power and number. They start to conquer nearby settlements and cities of my enemies, and before I notice, Real Divine happened with me and my vassals in the north vs all other enemies in the south. And I control only 4 settlements in that game: Owari, Kyoto, Asai's settlement and the gold mine of Hojo with only 3 regular amries: 2 in the area around Kyoto and 1 legion in the north to fight rebel and surprise attacks ( which's the AI in S2TW like to do).
So with the army's number restrict and a deeper (right?) diplomatic relation in R2TW, do you guys think vassal will play a more important role or just like in other games where they will start attack you after 1 or 2 turn or like the Pope in M2TW or Ashikaga clan in S2TW where they will just sit still in their only 1 settlement and do nothing except build a full stack army and wait to have revenge on you?

More important because they will allow you to have more armies. If the cooperation with allies works well this can be very significant.

There must be a big incentive for us to make Vassals in Rome 2. Also, just because my Vassal grows in strength, I don't want them to just rise up against me randomly. I want their revolt to mean something. I want there to be a trigger to their revolt.

It needs to be worth having a Vassal in the first place. If CA can make these options more worthy of our time and give us enough benefits if we can pull them off, it would make this option worth our while if we use it. There's a lot of potential with deplomacy this time around.
I personally invite you to check out my complete combat overhaul which will give you a completely new Rome 2 experience:

Well, one big bonus is that you get more friendly armies. That will be very important, especially with the cap on the number of armies you have. And I personally would like a vassal to rise up against me once he thinks he's powerful enough to do so. It makes a lot of sense. I don't want a vassal who is twice as powerful and but doesn't rise up against me because I haven't given him a reason. The power balance should be reason enough.

Even though that makes sense and would be the case, it's not the best way to go about something. When you're a vassal of a powerful nation, you are under an identity. For example, the Persian empire. If you became a vassal of the Persian empire, you were now a 'part' of the Persian empire. Anyone who wanted to attack that specific territory had to go to war with the entire Persian empire. If AI now look at which factions are vassals of who, they should try to calculate if it is worth their while to go to war against the entire empire.

If the AI now have that capability, and actually registers the entire empire instead of just a vassal, this would make the vassal system much more effective. All in all, you may be stronger than your vassaliser (custom word lol) but because you are apart of an empire, you could reap the benefits of having less conflicts and a much more fearsome reputation because of who you belong to.

Yes I do hope vassals are more important and allies too. Hopefully diplomacy is smooth and works well.
