    Default Changing unit behaviour in battle

    Is there a way to change how a unit acts when given an order? Like get a skirmisher unit to simply have all men do a 180 turn and run when ordered back behind the main line instead of bunching up when the men on the left run to the right and vice versa because it is suddenly supposed to face the other way. It's painfully obvious when you see stuff like that happening that the programmer/designer/whoever never was in any kind of armed force. It takes about a day of basic training to get even the most dimwitted recruit to grasp the concept of turning in place....

    Ideally I would like to be able to give my units the same set of basic drill orders most drill sergeants scream at raw recruits all over the world. Like right face, left face, about turn, forward march, double time and so on. And some more suited to ancient warfare, like brace to recieve charge, charge (straight forward, not wheel to face the closest unit thus breaking up the line, but a full line charge straight ahead), disengage (by backing while defending and not turning your back on the enemy to get cut down resulting in half the unit dead and the other half routing) or like the romans did, form a tight shieldwall, give a mighty push/heave and then disengaging when the enemy is (hopefully) off balance.

    Anyway, is this possible to mod, if so how and has someone already done it?

    Long story short this sort of thing is hardcoded. I would recommend Darth's formations and/or using the click and drag formation to move units.

    have u tried ntw 2
    it has bettre drilled soldiers
    but the battles are scripted
