I printed the campaign map of the new game, drew the broders of the factions, then started planning my conquests from 272BC and on!

    Here is a glimpse:
264BC Italia conquered up to Ariminum
    248BC Magna Graecis taken
    238BC Corsica et Sardinia taken
    200BC Cisalpine taken
190-130BC Tarraconensis and Carthaginensis taken (all except lusitania and galicia, tough tribes there)
160-140BC Epirus destroyed and Macedon as well.
    150-130BC Carthage destroyed
    120BC Illyria taken
    100BC Asia minor conquered
    100BC Provincia taken (Massalia)
    90BC Africa taken
    80-70BC Syria and Cilicia taken
    70-60BC Vassalise Egypt
60-50BC Conquest of Gaul with a Julli member (likely Caesar)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Fall of the Republic
    CIVIL WAR-CIVIL WA
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Empire
conquest of the rest of Iberia 30BC
    Conquest of Egypt 30BC
conquest of Judea somewhere near 0, right on time to see the mirracles.

Until 14AD or for how long it will extend..... Up to 50AD then with Segmenta Legions to Britannia!!

After watching Gods & Generals again for the second time I noticed alot of Roman influence in the movie which is so awesome I suggest to anyone that likes American Civil War films to watch it.

Here is quote of the movie

    Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain

In the Roman civil war, Julius Caesar knew he had to march on Rome, which no legion was permitted to do. Marcus Lucanus left us a chronicle of what happened. "How swiftly Caesar had surmounted the mighty alps and in his mind conceived immense upheavals, coming war. When he reached the water of the little Rubicon, clearly to the leader through the murky night appeared a mighty image of his country in distress, grief in her face, her white hair streaming from her tower-crowned head, with tresses torn and shoulders bare, she stood before him and sighing said, "Where further do you march? Where do you take my standards warriors? If lawfully you come, if as citizens, this far only is allowed." Then trembling struck the leader's limbs, his hair grew stiff and weakness checked his progress, holding his feet at the rivers edge. At last he speaks, "Oh Thunderer, surveying Rome's walls from the Tarpeian Rock. Oh Phrygian house gods of Iulus, Clan and Mystery of Quirinus who was carried off to heaven, Oh Jupiter of Latium seated in lofty Alda and Hearths of Vesta, Oh Rome, equal to the highest deity, favor my plans! Not with impious weapons do I pursue you. Here am I, Caesar, conqueror of land and sea, your own soldier, everywhere, now too, if I am permitted. The man who makes me your enemy, it is he who be the guilty one." Then he broke the barriers of war and through the swollen river swiftly took his standards. And Caesar crossed the flood and reached the opposite bank. From Hesperia's Forbidden Fields he took his stand and said, "Here I abandoned peace and desecrated law; fortune it is you I follow. Farewell to treaties. From now on war is our judge!" Hail Caesar! We who are about to die salute you!

I'm playing lots of Total War, watching a ton of LPs, and just finished watching the Decisive Battles series and will watch Time Commanders.
I play crusader kings 2, discovering paradox games, and this is seriously scary how the TW series looks like a kindergarten toy compared to it.

There is a modification called Paeninsula Italica II for Medieval II. Those who wishes to go through the early days of Rome conquering Italy should take a look. Also, De Bello Mundi mod seems to be close to a release.

    Lots of reading.

Mostly scientific stuff but right now I'm reading the Masters of Rome novels by Colleeen McCollough. Pretty good so far.

I'm reading "Pride of Carthage" by David Anthony Durham. An excellent novel set in the 2nd Punic War. Hannibal Barca is one of the main characters, which is nice.
