Default Change ownership of an army

I had an army of 17 units under control of my FL and I wanted to blitz a 19 unit city because **** sieges. I had to take 7 units off my stack before the rebels would sally out. I actually lost 70% of my troops (though I fortunately didn't lose any units). I want to take a 10 unit city nearby but I kind of can't because the "reserve" went rebel, in spite of being literally next to my FL. Is there any way to make the army mine again? I'd really rather not have to look up all the unit names and cheat myself a bunch of troops, especially because this is a mod.

I wouldn't normally cheat in such a flagrant manner, but really, this is just stupid, ridiculous, and all kinds of annoying.
Jon had taken Donal and Benjen’s advice to heart: Sam may be fat and pathetic, but he is still a member of the watch, and one of the few black brothers who isn't a rapist or thief. (out of context, this sounds ridiculously racist)

Maybe you could bribe it if you had LOTS of money. Easier just to reload the last saved game.

The easiest thing to do is prevent the army from rebelling in the first place by reloading the previous turn and resetting the counters. This can normally be achieved by simply re-saving the game before hitting the end turn button.

If you can't do that and you want them back that badly, you could try a bribe. However, there is no guarantee this will work and it's not exactly what you'd call cost-effective.

The other option is to replace the lost men using the 'create_unit' console command, but you'll still have the original rebels hanging around if you do it this way.

To kill the rebels simply attack it with a militia unit, auto_win attacker, auto resolve, done.

But then he would still be cheating, wich he doens't want to do, i'd agree with the first one, Just load the last saved game and ALWAYS save before you end a turn.

Yes, and now that you mention that I see the OP already spoke of wanting to avoid the third option I provided, namely, to create a replacement army. Reloading the turn is probably viewed a lot less like cheating by many people and doesn't require use of the console. It depends on whether an earlier copy of the saved game exists, though.

This would not be a very efficient solution. You may get the win, but the AI still takes the odds into account and you won't kill a lot of men. You would have to attack multiple times before depleting the stack entirely. It would be far easier to fight the battle once, with enough men so that the rebels are scattered afterwards. Regardless, the OP is trying to reclaim his troops, not destroy them. Also, it looks like he is trying to play a pretty fair game and may not want to be granted battle victory statistics that were achieved using the 'auto_win' command.

Oh my god TWC is so damn slow these days. I can't even quote people now. vB4 can bite my ass.

Anyway, the reason I don't want to cheat a new army is because I don't know the unit codes and it would probably take 10-30 minutes to find them all because I'm playing THERA, which uses every single unit card. I could easily kill or move the army, that's not the problem, it's that I don't want to deal with this headache.

I would gladly just reload and get on with my life but I had to kill 19 native american units (including two half-sized units with 3 freaking HP and 17 attack) with 10 units, only two of which are cavalry and two of which have guns, and that is not something I want to relive. I also have to take a smaller settlement halfway across the map with 6 units from a 6 unit army, and the general has elephants. Not difficult by any means, but it takes a good while for those bastards to route, even under constant rifle fire.

Well, it appears there are several options on the table, but none of them are going to be quick and easy based on what you've explained. The one plus if you decide to fight those battles again is that it's good practice for honing your skills. If you are concerned about going to all that trouble and still having the army rebel, there's a way to avoid that. Rebellions occur as soon as you hit the end turn button. So, save the game, end the turn, and see if your stack has turned grey. If the men are still yours, go ahead with the battles and you should be in the clear. Sorry I don't have a better solution.
