I am now typing this on my brand new pc!!!! I've installed anti-virus, firewall, antispyware software and other free stuff i downloaded and saved to usb stick before i got the new pc running. But several things:

1) How do i do that 3d mark thing?

2) MSN wont work on this comp, i think i may have stoped it from accessing the internet.

But anyway im so happy that everything works!!!!!!

3D Mark is a graphics card tester, while also stressing the rest of your system, like games would. 3D mark 06 uses shader model 3, while 3D mark 05 focuses more on shader model 2 (roughly).

more than likely a firewall issue i suppose, did you check the windows firewall also?

In anycase, you can always use web messenger until the problem is resolved

EDIT: 3dmark is a bigger download than i was expecting. I've been playing Halo on my new rig and it looks so much better its unblievable.

3D mark plays a small engine scene, then grades your PC, i havent done 06 on my PC, but in 05 it got about 280, which is embarrasing. Yours should get around 5000ish, however this is a rough estimate.

Well my comp is running very well apart from messenger, which i can't work out why its not working.

What firewall are you using? Make sure Windows firewall is not enabled if you are using a 3rd party firewall. That has caused problems for me in the past...
