Default Ancient Roman paintings in Rome 2?

Roman painting was very realistic in ancient times.

It was a legacy of the Hellenistic era. Very well known three-dimensional perspective. Human figures were made with great precision. The ancient Romans were able to paint people in realistic proportions and colors.

Once again in the world, this painting was known only in the European Renaissance (in medieval painting wasn't as precise).
It would be nice to see the pictures in the game inspired by Roman art. I am following are examples of ancient Roman painting.

I agree the stuff in the Pompeii exhibition at the British Museum was beautiful, and very distinctive. I would love to see that sort of thing, and wall fresco patterns too, influence the game art style in menus and loading screens (and it would save Rome 2 from having a menu with a loading time like Shogun 2

I extremely doubt it , CA didn't want to make an historical game , but just something that in a way or the other reminds of a "classic" world that in the ideas of the less accoultured and people that know of Rome just by movies and cartoons is something made of straight lines, triangles, stylized figures in bichromatisms, columns, silouhettes buildings and poplars trees around round hills .

It should be in units cards. I will never understand decision CA to make units cards from archaic Greek age - period not from time of the game Rome 2.

Let us hope that it will be in the interface. Interface Shogun had Japanese art and the interface of Napoleon had classical 19th centurypainting.

I'm afraid it looks like the Rome 2 interface will be going for pure functionality, not appearance. Just grey boxes

It is a historical game. The interface should be in the atmosphere of the era.
I find it easier to empathize when I see the interface associated with the era than the keys, which could be in any other game like GTA.

I personally don't find the UI to be that important so long as it's easy to use. I say this simply because after a while, we all get used to it and move on. I couldn't tell anything apart on the Shogun 2 unit cards but got used to it quickly enough.

In any case, I don't like the current art direction CA has taken with their unit cards either, but I don't see them changing it. The main reason I don't like them is simply because they don't look good, while the fact that they're ahistorical is secondary.

If the thread is to remain open, please keep discussion away from deities such as Priapus. That includes images of him.

I doubt if the paintings will be added to the game. If I am not wrong, blood and gore was not included in the game due to the age rating. Also, I don't think parents would like their kids (who are minor) to play games which have any theme displaying nudity even if in art.

People could not be totally naked. It is and art. They could be in short tunics in game.
