This happened to me, too. A few turns later on the Cimbri's turn. It's caused by cloned characters created via the campaign script or something. Apparently, being dutiful about activating the script when you load your game can help solve this issue, but in my experience it doesn't seem to make a difference. I've never gotten more than a hundred or so turns into an RSII campaign, not matter how careful I was to activate the script. Next time I play this mod, I'm probably going to take an axe to a lot of the background script, even remove the roman rebellions if I have to.
A common mistake is loading a save while you are on the campaign map. If you do this the script wont activate right. To avoid this you have to either close out of the program or hit escape and click the "?" in the upper right hand corner. Then once the save loads you must activate the script again.
