No Cursors, Unit Sound???

When I watch other videos of TATW game play, others always have a sword or bow when selecting their soldiers to attack the enemy. I don't have that and are wondering why? Any tips or help?

Thanks for replying StealthFox! What I may of done wrong is when installing TATW I noticed a folder in the original M2TW files that had all the icons I was talking about. When installing it said if you need to overwrite anything do it. When it asked me to overwrite it worded it as "Merge" the two folders. I thought this would be wring so I deleted the original M2TW folder (The one with those icons) and replaced it with the TATW folders. I get only one simple in game icon. Is there a way to fix without reinstalling it all? I am on a laptop by the way. It's a beast and can handle TATW surprisingly well. I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I haven't noticed anything else strange in the game at all. There is an occasional crash but it happens only once or twice a month. I can't get a screenshot just yet but can get one soon. Thanks for the help!

M2TW or TATW? The icons I saw was in M2TW.

First try juts reinstalling TATW. I'm thinking this will fix it.

A new problem has occurred now. I uninstalled M2TW and Kingdoms and the reinstalled them, then ran the installers for TATW (Where you choose to install the mod). I deleted the map.rmw file and the geography file and did all the prep for installing but nothing. It brings up the unspecified error and shuts down on me. I noticed that the loading screen is different before it shutdowns though, it says 3.0 instead of 3.2 and doesn't have a redish mordor themed background. I installed all the patches and steps so this baffled me a bit to see something different. If you have any idea what this error may be please let me know. Thanks!

This means wrong installation..

1. Is your M2TW a Steam or non steam version?

2. Have you tried to run your M2TW and Kingdoms to see do they work after reinstallation?

3. Also, did you edit the security for your main M2TW Folder ( or, disabled UAC) before installing TATW?

1. I have a steam version.
2. I did with M2TW but not with Kingdoms
3. My security settings are edited as it said to do in your tutorial.

Could you leave me a link to it? I couldn't find it and did what I could from memory. I still have the files in my GAME folder though if it is possible to back it up with that. Thanks for replying!

Only M2TW file which needs to be overwritten is M2TW/ data/ models_missile folder, which should be in your GAME/ data folder.

What does that mean? Can I just continue from the GAME folder point in the installation thread to save time? Thanks for all the replies it is extremely helpful!

Yes, if you followed my installation instructions and installed TATW into a GAME folder first, then you can continue from there. The files in GAME folder serve you as a backup copy of TATW.

Open GAME folder, select/ highlight both data and mods folder, and copy/ paste them into your main Medieval II folder, overwrite everything when asked. After that rename Third_Age_3 folder with one of Kingdoms campaigns name and start it from steam launcher.
