I have released an alpha version of the Rome Total Multiplayer DirectX 3D client at www.rometotalmultiplayer.com. This provides most of the same functions as the 2D client, except in 3D; it also includes some fixes of the server software. It's highly recommended to update your version of DirectX to the very latest version (I mean it). The code is not optimised and will run quite slowly over Germany (all those damn trees!). The landscape is currently rendered in colour rather than with textures, but the cities use RTW's 3D models, and various other graphics from the original game are also incorporated.

This is only an alpha and has not been tested on a wide variety of video cards, although it does not use any vertex or pixel shaders, so it should (theoretically) run on just about anything.
