biggest chapter ever, in terms of screenshots! I had 11 too many for these forums Mostly because there are a LOT of battles.
Chapter 16
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Previously, the Morian Wars grew in intensity, resulting in the destruction of 3 enemy armies at the hands of Chieftan Lagrat. The Balrog retook Latrag afer defeating several Dale armies, and Lord Shagdush defended our western territories from the uruk-hai of Isengard. Now, 2 armies remain near Moria, and it is unknown where a previously seen Harad army is.
Apparently Lurtz got pretty mad that we killed his friend (surprise) so he left the fort and besieged Moria.
We sally out. He has a few quality Uruk-Hai units, but most of them are orc looters picked up after the invasion was called, or snaga units. We should be fine. I brought up the troops from the fort to help, but for some reason they don't appear. Oh well.
5th Battle for Moria.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The start of the battle goes much like the previous ones. The enemy runs away for a bit, we reform. We're half done forming up, when they charge. We countercharge. Unfortunately, the rest of the battle takes quite a while and is a very costly affair.
Step 1: running away.
Step 2: charging back in.
Step 3: Us counter-charging.
Our troops are better, but they have many more. This causes breaches in our line.
On the hill we're barely holding together.
Their left flank flees
We focus our energy on the charging Lurtz.
Our last two trolls heroically charge the enemy archers.
With no infantry left on that flank, they desperately charge in snaga skirmishers.
Lurtz finally falls, the last in his bodyguard. Of course, the enemy soon routs completely.
Due to Lurtz' death, the enemy army is completely eradiated. However, we took massive casaulties, mostly due to Lurtz' incredible command and dread. If Chieftain Lagrat were any less of a general than Lurtz, we might've failed.
Right after that, the Orcs of Gundabad lay siege, this time with some pathetic army. Right before that, we managed to sneak in two units of Heavy Goblin Infantry, so our forces are slightly replenished. They also besiege our northern outpost in the Mountains.
They will die when this invasion is through.
The drunkards are successful again.
Chieftain Lagrat hears that the enemy general looks almost exactly like him. He can't have that, so he sallies out!
6th Battle for Moria
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
This battle is quite easy, although their Rhudaur cavalry mercenaries do cause some annoyance.
Our infantry charge their blob...
Our trolls charge their javelinmen...
The enemy general dies...
And victory is ours!
After that battle, we retrain some troops in Moria, and train more swordsmen. We think now we will be able to face the next invasion army, although we were in great danger for a little bit. The next battle occurs in the north, rather than at Moria.
They underestimate the power of thousands of javelins being thrown in a continuous stream.
Siege of our Northern fort.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Observe the concentric lines of troops.
Observe the many javelins then tearing through them. The enemy reaches 50% casaulties at about the same time we reach 10%.
The enemy routs, but we want to capture their general. He is trampled under a sea of snaga.
This is only a taste of what will come to you, fools.
Back down south, a rather large Isengard army appears. Lord Shagdush moves in to take it out.
They have some worthy units, but nothing we can't handle.
Battle Near Duneard
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It's a rather simple battle. They have only one warg unit, so we have cavalry superiority.
At first it looks like they're going to stand and fight us, but then they run away towards a hill. Curses!
So we send our wargs to chase down some of their stragglers.
They finally turn around and face us just as we finish forming up.
Their genius wargs charge our halberdiers, the only unit in our entire army which is effective against cavalry.
The rest of the troops soon follow.
Our silver-chevron wargs charge the enemy archers and then the infantry from behind.
The enemy soon routs, including both generals. But we don't want them to escape.
The enemy is eradicated. We have noticable but not significant casaulties.
Our diplomat finally reaches maximum skill level. It's mostly due to all the Isengard armies he's bribed away.
Our newly trained assassin isn't quite so impressive, although the work of the guild shows. We send him after some random captains.
The last Mordor invasion army is spotted heading for the western side of the Mountains. For some reason, the enemy really doesn't want to besiege Moria from the east. They never have.
He wanders into Dunland, and Lord Shagdush takes his chance to remove one of the last invading armies.
7th Battle for Moria
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The battle goes better than I expected, once our wargs managed to get into the fray. Our archers didn't really get a chance to shoot, but rather we used them as melee troops. That's okay, because they didn't take many casaulties. Our main challenge was how the enemy had infantry superiority in numbers and skill.
As usual, it starts out looking good...
But then the enemy runs up to hide on their beloved hill, yet again.
Our wargs aren't the most stealthy beings of middle-earth, so they're spotted when they try and go around the back. Damn! Lucky for us, the soldiers sent to stop them rout remarkably fast, almost on impact.
The enemy attacks us while we're still trying to get up the hill, sooner than I'd have hoped.
We barely manage to get onto equal footing before entering combat.
The wargs are delayed yet again by a unit of Uruks.
Our archers, who we tried to position on the flank, are forced to point blank a small unit of raiders and then charge.
Finally, the cavalry has arrived!
The enemy's left flees, allowing us to wrap our relieved troops around to crush the stronger enemy right.
One last charge!
The enemy general is captured! I wonder what fate awaits him?
Victory is ours, and now only one invading army is left standing.
The balrog finally enters Moria, pretty much ensuring it's safety. Zagbug is sent to the Western mountain pass that the invading armies love to enter through, in preparation to intercept the Haradrim army.
Isengard lays siege to Duneard, obviously they didn't hear about the large Misty Mountain army right next to it.
Unfortunately, Lord Shagdush is delayed by another Isengard army. He attacks, reinforced by some snaga bribed away from Isengard's cause.
Battle Northeast of Duneard
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Near where we started there was an impassable cliff. We formed up our forces to the right, thinking the enemy would be near us. Instead they formed up far to our left. We quickly readjusted, and charged down the hill. Despite our advantage, the enemy troops' morale was quite resilient, and it took a long time to completely destroy them.
damn it!
Let's go! Move it!
The lone unit of enemy wargs wandered too close.
Oh dear. Charge!
Our forces charge, but several of their units decide to flank us by running past the cliff and hitting us from behind. Our archers are readjusted to receive them.
The infantry fight.
The wargs finally finish off the enemy wargs, and charge in from behind, routing the enemy troops for our forces for the umpteenth time.
Meanwhile, our archers are kept busy by 100 beserkers.
All of our forces rush to destroy the beserkers.
Except for a few, who go after the enemy general.
He is eaten.
Victory, although we take some casaulties, which will have to be retrained at Duneard.
Bah.
Pssh.
KAPOW! Goblin Town is defended successfully, of course, as is our Northern outpost.
Sigh... these invading armies can't make up their mind which side to besiege it from. Zagbug is sent back east.
The ring? Why would I give the ring to Sauron? I'd rather destroy him.
Aha! This is just where we want them. Zagbug and High Chieftain Lagrat attack from both sides!
Time for the Morian Wars to end!
8th and Final Battle for Moria
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Being in the foothills of the Misty Mountains, it is quite rugged terrain. The enemy forms up far below us, although thankfully there is a fairly clear path, allowing us to engage. The haradrim are far from their desert homeland, and we are on home turf. We will end this invasion now.
They're down there.
While we're up here!
Oh good, there's a path to get to us.
One of their two generals rides ahead and charges straight into one of my halberdier units. Good on you!
Somehow one of their cavalry units snuck up behind my wargs, but we'll finish them soon enough.
The enemy prefers to charge us in the side from some small pathway. Suits me well enough.
And there's the real problem...
Those troops on the left are all archers. For some reason the enemy infantry doesn't want to fight on equal footing, and prefer that cramped, uphill pathway.
Our wargs take advantage of their unprotected missile troops.
Now it's just mumakil left, all their infantry are routing.
Our reinforcements are stuck fighting in a cramped pathway much like the haradrim just were.
The lesser enemy general is killed, although we're not sure where or how.
Then the main one, again we don't know where.
Some of the enemy units rout after the general dies, maybe our reinforcements can make it?
Meanwhile, the mumakil are devestating our forces, and haven't lost a single one.
Hey! Get back here!
Yes! One of the beasts is down!
Our reinforcements are almost through...
Finally.
Now the mumakil are surrounded, for all the good that does.
Another one falls.
They take a liking to Zagbug's army. That's fair, considering what they did to Chieftain Lagrat's army.
The mumakil finally run amok, allowing us to end the battle and claim victory. But the personal army of High Chieftain Lagrat, famed throughout all of Middle-Earth for defending Moria against thousands of enemy soldiers, is almost completely destroyed. Most of that damage was dealt by the oliphaunts. Hopefully it will be worth it.
It was.
Sauron's invasion is finally declared a failure, a fitting title given that we beat back 7 armies of Sauron's puppets. Moria is no longer a target, and most, if not all of the invading factions will give up on attacking me.
My turn.

Woohoo awesome battles! You really make a great Orc Warlord, and you make other Orc users such as myself proud of the things you've shown they can accomplish! Can't wait to see your revenge!
With the invasion over, the realm looked to Chieftain Lagrat for their next move. Chieftain Lagrat first recognized a few things. One, this probably would not be the last invasion called on Moria. Because of this, we will want to gain as much land as possible before it happens again. Two, our first target should be either the Orcs of Gundabad, or Isengard, seeing as they are the closest to us and the most dangerous. Chieftain Lagrat sends a message to Saruman.
I'd take the offer if I were you.
They refused. Right, they die first!
Of course, we'll need to wait a while for Chieftain Lagrat's army to replenish.
I give up. They never succeed.
All the while we are preparing Isengard sends more forces to surround Duneard. They haven't besieged it yet, as Lord Shagdush's entire army is inside, plus some extra snaga troops outside the walls.
The snaga are attacked, but they retreat. I'd rather Lord Shagdush was under my control, rather than being reinforcements.
They're not making this campaign against Isengard any easier.
Well, at least Zagbug's army is ready. Now all we need is for Chieftain Lagrat's army to finish recuperating.
They even brought trolls this time. I don't think we can win this, but we'll try.
Siege of Goblin Town
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It's a close battle, but ultimately their downfall is their easily routable mass of snaga troops.
Our goblin infantry and trolls guard the gate. We have 6 snaga unit's worth of javelins ready to throw, plus our wargs.
The door bell's ringing!
Hello!
Our trolls aren't doing so well. Their trolls are better, plus there's two and a half thousand of them out there. Oh well, here they come.
Soon our snaga start throwing, and we have only one troll left. They're falling at record pace.
The enemy wargs drive through our lines, but that of course leads them to find themselves surrounded.
One unit of theirs routs.
We're taking lots of casaulties. We pull our captain and our wargs out of the fray.
Our troops begin to lose it so we send them back in.
Soon some more of them rout. We push them back outside the gates.
They push back in. What few wargs we have left are sent around the side and charge. The nearest enemy unit routs, but not all of them.
Until finally...
The enemy bodyguard has disappeared, but we never killed their general. We're not sure where he is. One enemy unit keeps fighting.
Some more return.
So our 4 warg riders, including our captain, charge twice and rout the enemy.
Victory is ours, but barely. Goblin Town won't survive another siege.
There's no time to rejoice. Lord Shagdush spots one of the 2 Isengard armies around Duneard marching away, and attacks the isolated remaining forces.
So the war for Isengard begins.
Battle by the gates of Duneard
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It's a rather tedious battle, although in the end we do crush them. They only deal half the casaulties they did because the terrain favored them.
Hmm... there's a big hill right near the enemy. I wonder what they're going to do?
Right on time.
They form up near the edge of the battlefield. Plus, there's some weird glitch where half of their troops don't illuminate in red.
For once they make a smart move. They attack while we're climbing up the hill.
Of course, a head on charge with no backup might not be the best plan for their wargs...
Meanwhile, our wargs sneak around the back of the hill.
The rest of their forces attack, too late to save their stupid warg riders.
Mine, thankfully, are not stupid, and proceed to kill some snaga stalkers.
And one of the enemy general's bodyguards.
The enemy starts to rout, while our wargs continue to rampage among the enemy flanks.
Omnomnomnom
Their forces entirely collapse.
Surrender comes quite sooner than I expected. Not enough of the enemy are satisfyingly dead. So we continue the chase.
One and two.
Truly a crushing victory. Half of their forces in Dunland, wiped off the map.
Damn! So close!
... Did you not see the huge army that was just in front of you?
Zagbug is sent North to protect against any attacks from our Northern neighbors. Meanwhile, the last unit is trained in Moria, and the primary invasion army is complete.
But first things first.
2nd Battle Outside the Gates of Duneard.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
We take more casualties this battle, although nothing serious. The enemy infantry takes a while to rout, but once they do everything else falls into place.
Is it just me or the enemy always start the battle near hills?
As they retreat farther back, we send our wargs around the right flank.
charge!
Their infantry looks a bit scattered. All the better for me.
Kill! Kill! Kill!
Their infantry are tougher than expected.
Next to be eaten is the enemy artillery.
Along with the enemy general.
400 deaths is more than I'd have hoped, but it's not that much in the scheme of things.
With the two armies in Dunland destroyed, Isengard should be helpless, right?
... Truly, their stupidity astounds.
Hello.
And goodbye.
Meanwhile, Chieftain Lagrat's army is complete, and is sent to destroy a Gundabad nuisance in the area. After that, they will take Limlight Fort and Fangorn, and meet up with Lord Shagdush to besiege the fortress of Saruman, Isengard.
\Awesome chapter! I just realized Chieftain Lagrat has "the Honest" attached to his name, kind of weird for an Orc but oh well. Cant' wait for the Attack on Orthanc!
Very nice adding, I'm glad to see that everything is going well on the battlefield!
Against Isengard be careful when facing Uruk-hai Pikes (much stronger than the average of other pike units, plus a great morale) and Berserker (even if you will face them rarely they are very powerful and do not die easily, very dangerous especially in chokes and sieges); archers and crosswobs can deploy stakes, so pay attention with your Wargs, but I'm sure that you are actually more than capable of vanquishing them.
I just found this and read through the entire thing while waiting for Third Age to redownload - I uninstalled it and M2TW a bit ago to free up some room on my PC as I wasn't playing them at the time - and it has definitely gotten my interested in playing some Orcish factions. Probably Gundabad, as the Gundabaddies are my favourites ^_^. Anyway, I look forward to more!
This is amazing. Particularly all the captions that appear in battles. I am starting to wonder though, when are you going to get back to killing Elves?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.
;-; sorry, I've got chapter 18 played and screenshotted, but school has started recently and I haven't found time to write it up. I will soon. please have mercy on me until then
you thought it was dead, but no, the author is merely lazy and incompetent!
Chapter 18
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The bonfire lasted for several days. Lord Shagdush listens to his men sing "Ding Dong the Wizard's Dead" and recounts what happened in the latest invasion of Isengard territory. It all starts with Chieftain Lagrat doing what he usually does, slaughter and execute enemies.
Out of my way!
Then Lord Shagdush had some slaughtering and executing to do himself.
Business as usual, a stupid enemy army led by some stupid captain.
Battle in Dunland
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The battle starts in a relatively flat area. You can see a cliff off to the left, however. The enemy will probably go for it.
Dramatic battle-field establishing screenshot!
They go for the cliff as expected, but we're already there. You can see our warg riders on a long flanking trip.
Some artillery of their's is caught undefended, so our wargs pay them a visit!
They try and form themselves up as if to be facing both our main force and our wargs.
It's a smart idea in theory, but in practice our wargs are too fast and their troops too undisciplined.
Their troops rout by the hundreds and our wargs come up the rear.
Wargs, smash!
Their captain is eaten by wargs (the #1 cause of death in Isengard) and so the battle ends.
Lord Shagdush starts moving back towards Duneard when, surprise, Isengard does something dumb!
If I could put sarcastic, slow clapping into typing, I would.
Meanwhile, our scout sees Isengard moderately defended.
Another scout sees Limlight Fort apparently more valuable to Isengard than the fortress their little kingdom is named for.
Lord Shagdush doesn't seem to get much rest in Dunland, does he?
Battle for Duneard
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Let's get em!
There they go, running towards a hill again!
Regardless, my numbers and wargs will carry the day.
Omnomnomnom
We proceed to surround the enemy.
Normally we'd smash right through whatever small force the enemy sends to stop our wargs, but this time they sent beserkers.
We take out most of the beserkers in the charge, although they don't rout (of course) so the wargs run past them and smash into the enemy behind!
They begin to rout so the wargs begin to eat.
Unfortunately some of them are still fighting.
Our wargs charge again.
Our reinforcements are just standing there... they'll be punished later.
The battle is almost finished.
Although they are stubborn...
The enemy general falls victim to just what you'd expect.
Victory is ours, although casualties are too high to be very happy.
Fangorn is nice and defenseless...
With the Gundabad army destroyed and Lord Shagdush fully in control of the situation in Dunland, High Chieftain Lagrat and the Balrog head out to take Limlight Fort.
Go Rohan go, take out that army!
Ehhh... I'd rather not take huge casualties right now, so I'll give you one chance to walk away.
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT!
The invasion has begun!
Oh my, I wonder how they're funding that many armies with one settlement...
Hey guys... that isn't funny...
...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
So you're telling me, that Rohan, whose lands have all been taken except for one city by Isengard, somehow funding three armies with that city, decide to ignore Isengard and ATTACK THE ONE ATTACKING ISENGARD? ... WHY?!?!?
Out of the way, I need to kill the man attacking my city!
AND THEN THEY DECIDE TO JUST PRETEND NOTHING HAPPENED?
Normally I would burn their city to the ground, but I'm a little preoccupied with Isengard and Gundabad, so I'm going to let this slide and get a ceasefire. It costs much more than I'd even bother spending to destroy them, but they accept the ceasefire.
Just take the money you conniving, evil, disgusting losers...
Now that that momentary heart-attack is over, we can get back to killing Uruk-hai.
How about we do it now!
Untimely death of Ugluk
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
They form up off to the left, which I guess has a slight hill.
We get moving, having no reason to waste time.
Our wargs, being so sneaky and inconspicuous, run around the right flank.
They start to move towards us while we're still trying to form up.
Our wargs will distract them for a bit.
Their units take up an odd charge while we try and form up.
We're a little bit too slow on the left flank.
But not to worry, the wargs will save the day!
Well... maybe.
They send more than our wargs can handle, for once, so we circle around them and move towards the main battle.
That's better, charging the undefended sides!
Our left flank is actually hit hard enough to split in the middle, while our right flank does fine after the warg charge.
So, naturally, our archers fire point-blank into that split.
Some enemy unit charges our archers from the side, and our line seems to be a mess.
But just in time, our wargs find their dinner!
THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT, FLEE, RUN!
There goes another one.
So the enemy is destroyed, but yet again with high casualties.
With Ugluk dead Saruman has now lost his 2 greatest lieutenants, Lurtz having been killed in front of the gates of Moria. The next best thing would be to kill Saruman himself....
There he is! After him!
This is too good to be true.
Public Assassination of Saruman
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Let's not beat around the bush. We divide our troops into 4 groups, one for each entrance into the village square. By the end of the day Saruman will be dead!
No reason to wait around, let's go!
There he is!
The assault begins from 3 entrances. Our archers shoot from the 4th. Wargs also charge in.
The town center is a mess, with bloody and charred bodies everywhere.
The battle will probably take a while, with high casualties. But the death of Saruman will be worth it.
Another group of archers shoots into the melee by the back entrance.
The front entrance doesn't fare any better than before.
At least the side entrance has barely anyone to fight.
The side entrance where Saruman is on the front of the fight.
The battle is pretty slow for a while.
Our archers attempt to charge in the 4th entrance. A small force of snaga try to stop them.
Saruman's a bloodied mess, but he still won't die!
Just surrender already, all we want is Saruman!
FINALLY, THERE HE GOES!
The rest of the battle is finishing off the stubborn defenders.
It's a costly victory, but we finished what we came for.
Gineard is abandoned and Lord Shagdush heads back to Duneard. There are still many orcs to lead Isengard, but none of them are as powerful as Saruman, Lurtz, or Ugluk. So far we haven't made any progress in terms of capturing settlements, but we have made significant advances that are less obvious. We've destroyed several armies of Isengard in the hills of Dunland. We've struck a ceasefire with the city-state of Rohan. The Orcs of Gundabad are too afraid to send anything after us. And most importantly, we've killed Saruman. Everything is in place for our invasion to succeed. Limlight Fort will fall soon, with Fangorn sure to come right after it. Than, with the combined might of 2 hardened armies and the Balrog, we shall take Isengard and our revenge on the Uruk-Hai will be complete.
