It won't be added a few months before release, this makes us sound like entitled children, and I would honestly doubt modders would attempt something so outlandishly broad and niche.

So you want to conquer 2 million cities?
You keep saying "we", but I don't think that the majority of players wants to have all cities siegeable and 1200 turn campaigns.
I'd play that map if it was just Italy with an early Rome, Latins, Greek poleis, Samnites, Etruscans and some Celts in the north. That'd be quite cool. But even then you'd probably half to cut the settlements by at least 50%!
Really? These kind of over the top ideas fall apart in so many ways... Development time, play time, computing power (imagine the AI turn time ...).
My mind is boggled by the expectations of some relative to this game. Its a fracking game, not a simulation, or virtual reality. Its an idealized toy box.
To me, it appears to be Risk style gameplay so the game can be finished in a few hours. This will appeal to a broader market and the result will be an obvious increase in sales. You can't blame CA for making good business decisions. I plan to pre-order next month, but it doesn't mean that I'm totally thrilled with the path CA has taken. I'm just hoping that some brilliant modders can make it what it should have been. In my opinion, a good strategy game should last around 20 hours (or more) of gameplay. Guess we'll have to wait on that.
1200 turns is being over dramatic, I would be happy with a campaign that went for 150 years(600 turn long campaign) and I could enjoy the "moment" more, but lets see where CA take us.
300 years is a long time to be at war hehe.
