    Default Please help

I have a problem to run RTR 6.0.

Fresh installation of Rome Total War.

    Patched to 1.2.

    Installed RTR 6.0.

Then, after the first screen the program close back to desktop, and a box appears with a message: "filename not found", and some strange characters after.

Can someone help me? It's the third time that I reinstall Rome Total War.

    Thanks in advance.

    Welcome to the Forums!!!
    Well done for picking RTR!!

I'm not sure how to get by your problem though,
if no-one else replies PM a guy called Florin80, he's a tech-support guy for RTR, he'll know what to do.

Are you sure you installed RTR into the same folder as RTW?
You could try installing the RTR Gold patch, thats the latest version of RTR for 1.2

I'm not sure about that exact problem but you could try deleting the file 'Map.rwm'

(its in Data/World/Maps/Base and Data/World/Maps/Camaign/Imperial Campaign

    then try running the game.

Sorry i couldn't be more helpful

Thanks to ARCHER29 for the amazing banners!! (I need to work out how to make it actually show the slideshow)

    EB vs RTR!!!

What's the "first screen?" If you can get to the menu, but it crashes before loading a campaign game, then find all the instances of "map.rwm" in your activision folder and delete them as LegionairosMatt suggested. If it's crashing before that that it may be best if you could take a screenshot of the error message so that we may help you better.

EDIT: Actually this problem has been reported before, go to this thread to see that you must install the Windows Media Runtime located on the RTR Disc 1 to solve your problem.

Or you can start the game with the '-nm' switch on the shortcut to stop movies being played.

    Fabiorem,

That error normally occurs when the mod is installed over the 1.3+ patch. Are you sure you installed the 1.2 patch properly? What version of the game did you buy (2004 version, or Gold version?)? When you installed the 1.2 patch, did it tell you there was an error in the installation? Are you installing RTR 6 Gold or Platinum, or an older version?
