Can't start a campaign

Ok, for the past two days I've been trying to install DM8 on BI. I installed as per instructions and when I start I see the new graphics, and if I go in custom battles I can see the new units. Problem is, once I select units and click to start the battle, it drives me back to the faction choice page. As for the campaign, I can't start it, It sez to choose from the list.

I've played about every faction of RTW, BI and did the Alexander campaign and was now tryin to find some new experience to fill the gap until MTW2. This looked like my best option. plz help...

oh ya, changed my preferences "first time play" to false.

Used the standard installation procedure. Clean install w/ activision deleted than installed RTW to program files next BI, next the patch and finally DM8 with the correct path selected.

Put -show_err at end of the target line might sort out the problem

On desktop icon, right click Properties then put -show_err at end of target line

I had the same problem, and all I did was this.... and it has worked ever since. (my brother likes to format, and lose all my games consistently, he doesnt like RTW. actually, he HATES IT. lol I HATE HIM. jj anyways, I have to reinstall on a monthly basis. so give it a try)

Install Clean RTW, then patch 1.2, Then BI, then the next patch (preferably 1.6) then finally, DM.

After that, change the First player thing to false, and then try that out. Remeber the correct path selected too.... and that SHOULD work. If it doesnt.... well, then try what Wipeout said.
