Default question about harbours for rs team

why are there no trade routes from the port of paraetorium, even if you build the dockyard there?is it not beter to have a trade route from that harbour to crete and halicarnassos and a trade route from cyrene to tarentum or croton.is it possible to change that in 2.6 or later versions.

and the via maris upgrade i dont understand what i have to build for that,is it trade fort, highways and dockyard or something else is needed also? is it only for meditaranian see or for al sees? some help woud be appreciated.

The first thing, I don't know. I think the sea trade route from Cyrene goes to Kreta. Most trade routes from the lower part of Italy are going to the Olympia port, Thermos or Apollonia. Maybe it's too far for a trade route. Maybe ask Tedric or one of the modders.

The Via Maris is a harbor upgrade, the last one exactly. You can build this only in some cities around the Mediterranean Sea. I don't know all, but so far it's Massalia, Rome, Olympia, Apollonia, Salonae, Segestica and many more. I think you'll need these cities to be Fortified and Economic, but not all. Important is the highest level of the normal harbour.

It's funny - but whilst I do not know the exact answer, this is something I've been looking at as a side and subjective experimental issue. What I now think happens is this:

    - Land Trade goes to neighbouring provinces along the road network, provided they are your own provinces or you have a Trade agreement

    - Sea Trade has to go to a non-neighbour (one province apart at least or over a 'sea'), and the other restrictions apply, facilitated by Ports - and therefore the number of Trade Fleets available

What you have to have is not only a spare Trade Fleet available, but also somewhere for it to go - for they do not double-up - but they can be two-way. What you need to do, therefore, is upgrade Ports everywhere and build a network of Trade. Just upgrading a single Port will not produce more Trade unless there is capacity already spare to be used.

If you keep an eye on the Port Trade it does reconfigure every now and again, so the program does seem to be fairly good at managing the changes when they are needed.

Something I noticed, too. I upgrade all my ports to the highest level. The income from trade gets higher and higher with every new region. And I like the view how everything is beautiful networked on the sea. So many little ships. Hehe.
