    Icon4 Medieval II Steam Issue

So about 4 months ago on my medieval II I had a mod for all of the kingdoms expansions up until about a month ago when launching them I get a message (and I quote):

The Graphics are on too high of setting to play please enter the game and turn down the graphics settings.

That was close to the original message but basically it wont let me play. I have deleted all the files on my computer and then installed it through steam and that's worked for my battlefront II game when it did that. but I have done everything it seems and still haven't figured it out! Help me total war community, You are my only hope!

If you deleted all your files, do you mean you formatted your harddrive and reinstalled Windows?

See I deleted the medieval II files and searched my whole computer for every file containing medieval II things and deleted them and then re installed it.

    Disable the UAC, yet?
Taken ownership of C: drive, yet?
Considered installing Steam anyplace but C:\Program Files (x86)?

These are all ways for Windows' security layer since Vista to play mind games with you is not done.
