Default Clarification on what the "Battlefield Selector" is!

Hi, Craig just posted this on the official forums

"We've decided to focus Rome II's multiplayer on the stuff that we know will deliver a great experience out of the box. You might have seen we've added in a couple of cool features. The one where you can select any co-ordinate on a map and jump into a land battle online which will be generated from there is pretty awesome.

You can then take those coordinates, so if you find a really cool battlefield based on an area of the world map you can share it with the rest of the community."

That sounds really neat. It allows for endless amounts of variation within the maps.

They said they had maps for each tiny part of the Japan map in Shogun 2. There were only a couple dozen different maps.

The map system is redone in Rome II. It works in the Rome1/Med2 style now (the entire map is 1 big tile, unlike Shogun II where they based the tile you were closest to)

Official source. Don't remember where though.

Yup. Can back him up on that one. Rome 2 campaign map will be one big tile by itself.

If i remember correctly in Rome I you could select, through little modding, a map coordinate and you could play with it in multiplayer against anyone.
