Default [Proposal] Following the light of the old Sun

I'd like to propose a mod for the Americas campaign of Kingdoms. Included would be:

    • Starting date edited to 1492, end date would be Summer 1799, four turns per year.
    • Redo of Americas map to incorporate the whole, or much more of the continent of America. (See map above)
    • New Factions, emergent factions (like the French, British, Dutch, etc)
    • New buildings for Native Factions, such as ports, buildings for gun smiths. If the Chichimecs and Apaches can use guns from fallen Spaniards/French/British, then I'd think they'd be able to copy their buildings.
    • The ability for Nomadic Factions to become "civilized" via optional reforms
    • Tech reforms for all factions as time progresses in the campaign
    • Epidemics for Native Factions

Suggestions, questions, anything? This seemed like a really good idea at the time, as Americas (to my knowing) lacks a huge mod, unlike Britannia, Teutonic, and the Crusades.

For one thing you might want to stick to one part of the continent at a time, Go for North or South America and focus on those, there are 3 mods on the works already for Mesoamerica (and parts of North America) though they still need a lot of work, you could join any of them.

On the other hand You could go with the US and Canada, which has not been done, and focus on those natives (the missisipians, Navajo, Hopi and other Pueblo cultures, Seminola, Cherokee, Apache, etc.) with the europeans as new players in the region.

Finally, South America where you could focus on the Rise of the Inca, the Mapuche, Chimu, Huari, etc. which hasent been done at all before.

Its a lot of work and you should start by selecting a region that can be manageable within itself, that you know as much (or are interested a lot in) as you can about it.

Once your mod looks manageable people will begin to offer their help. I can help you with Mesoamerica, and abit on the north, for what its worth.

Thanks for the insight, it's helped out quite a bit. I'll likely come back to this a bit later and edit it all down to a certain campaign. Once I have a better understanding of it all, as well. It's a tad odd that it hasn't been done yet, neither of them. I would have imagined that by now, there'd be a good number of large mods for the Americas campaign.

Well with your own words, you got no knowledge of modding, and I think you dont understand what kind and amount of work this would mean. 2 or 3 years of you life in very least.
