Default Rome Total War + Graphic card drives update

WHY THE HELL every time i update my drives, the game's image looks like a jammed tv? there wont even apear a good image. i would show pics, but when i print screen, they look just fine! but when playing (or trying) nothing makes scence. milions off colors everywhere, huge screen. AHhh... hate it. worst of all, this is the only game that makes me this. any clue for what may this problem be?

I know what you mean I have experienced this. I found it very annoying that I had to update my graphics drivers for civ 4 to work and then roll them back to the previous version to play RTW.

I have a GFX 5600 Ultra btw, so I'm on nvidia drivers. I'm afraid that you may have to keep the old drivers if you want to play RTW. I find the 'roll back' function can be quite useful for (relatively) quickly changing drivers. I don't know why it does it though. And when i got the latest drivers that caused it to mess up RTW it was a while back so I wonder what the newest drivers are that actually work.

Also, anyone playing RTW with up-to-date nvidia drivers problem free??

Well, I know the 84.21s work quite well. And as for the newest driver, I just downloaded and isntalled the 91.31s from NVidia last night for another game because it was reported those boosted FPS a bit (which can be important in a PvP shooter). Since I had read about issues with stretched screen on RTW using the 9x.xx series drivers I loaded RTW after playing the other game and did not have any issues. Of course I just briefly scrolled around the campaign map and pick whatever fight I could find to see how the battle screen looked. Didn't have any noticable issues either in campaign or battle screens.

But that was not a very thorough test, so take it for what its worth.

The FX series has serious screen corruption issues with many games, i would suggest to go back to old drivers. Getting new drivers wont really boost performance on FX cards.
