So, anything new?
Well, many positive things regarding the map, but on the downside two - at least for me important drawbacks - Units seem too fast and physics are over the top.
Concerning the AI the previewer holds his breath until the game is finished.
Well... the two "negative" points are only mentioned in the +/- categories. The whole text is really positive and makes me once more sure that the game will deliver
Also it describes about the army module a bit (an army also has "experience stages") as well as generals and the associates a ruler can have.
I liked this, diplomacy seems very easy to understand, and you'll be able to make decisions much easier. Good relations with Sparta and Macedon is coolThe Julian Group, we check our status with Egypt, which is actually pretty good. Neatly us lists which bring "aggression" against Egyptian enemies are pluses in Egypt, about "atrocities against the Seleucids: +5" that our alliance with Tylos +2 is worth the view of the Egyptians, the good relations with Sparta and Mazeondien depending +5. Likewise, the negative factors are listed, so we understand exactly why the relationship is good overall.gives me hope that I can be friendly with Rome for awhile so I can deal with some other enemies first. I also like the "atrocities against the Seleucids" part... can't wait to see how they look in the game.
Thanks for the link OP!
Be on alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in Love. (1 Corinthians 16:13)
When they talked about Deus Ex Machina at the end, I almost thought that from nowhere, the chariots came charging down and routed the Romans xD But no. the crazy chariots are not mentioned at all. The Ballistas, on the other hand, seem to be OP. They sunk a trireme, forcing the player to rush his cavalry uphill.
Can someone translate the review in a brief summary?
I'm glad they brought to light the high speed of combat and units and the silly physics
Well the Journalist has propably not the best knowledge of history. A few hours ago there was written under the picture of Cleo and Lover that they would have been Cleopatra and Pompeius. Nerdy as i am i wrote it in the mistake report and i have to aknowledge that they changed it very fast![]()
Proud to be a real Prussian.
For others like me who don't speak German, I figured I'd put up a translation through Google Translate
"We had 2 Rome - Total War have been presented multiple times, once directly from Creative Assembly, but two things sorely lacking: the campaign mode as a clear heart of the game and the games yourself. In that regard, we were pleased when we were already greeted upon arrival at the E3 booth with the words: "Today you get to see the campaign map."
And on his own monitor, but externally controlled by the CA spokesman, who shows us the essential things. You can see a game as Romans (or more precisely as Julier, the other two Roman factions are the families of Cornelia and Junia) in the year 47 BC, ie about 200 trains to start. The card is again a little bit prettier since become Shogun 2, mainly because the world detail shown by Britain in the North West extends to Egypt and Persia in the southeast, and thus has a great variety. If you zoom out maximum, a nice risk-card with around 40 provinces, consisting of around 100 regions appear. Here ownership is color coded, so that we see, that extends the Julian area of influence over a large part of the Mediterranean to a part of Egypt.
As each province is Egypt itself from several regions that manage themselves individually and make her own. On the "risk map" is also displayed clear which group is which region, so that the borders between regions extend in truth, not between the larger units of the provinces. At least, appears to be very well implemented and intuitively how it will play but then when the A and B Julier Egypt, Pontus, Egypt, however, has C, we can not be sure.
With interest, we look at the status screen of Julius Caesar, our group leader. As each character he is by the traits ambition, gravitas (most likely, "meaning", pleaded for the ancient Romans from all sorts of factors, such as family, political influence, deeds and strength of character together) described, rank, command, strength, cunning and faith. Caesar currently has a "subordinates", another character who recognizes him as a saint.
This we can "support", "chase", "discredit" or "kill". But not just by agent figure but comfortably from the status menu. But we can of course marry him with one of our daughters, and so more closely tie him to us. All of these actions cost "Political Capital." Not to be confused are the "subordinates" with the "followers" of a general, two guys giving this bonus (about a bodyguard) you can give her a character. Also has a character when we saw it right, up to three traits (characteristics) and ten skills (abilities).
Back on the campaign map, we marvel at the Pyramids and the Lighthouse of Alexandria, ancient wonders of the world which are natural to look directly on the map. Also on the different terrain between South and North, West and East, we now pay more. But the building style of the cities differs depending on the culture, in addition, we can already see on the world map, the approximate size of each city's main buildings. (Actually since Rome 1) How long in the usual series, also important resources are displayed, but built something more harmonious than it was before. Thus in the vicinity of Alexandria, an animated elephant in the landscape, clear message: If you control this region, you can train war elephants as a combat unit.
Can in recruiting ye your core units only in the home equip (not Roman legions in Syracuse recruit), where we from our previously described new recruiting technology (that the General requesting the troops, instead of her it by hand in Rome for example recruited) still could not see anything, this simply was not time.
What we could see was the entschlackte diplomacy menu or window: we check our status as Julian Group on Egypt, which is actually pretty good.
Neatly us lists which bring "aggression" against Egyptian enemies are pluses in Egypt, about "atrocities against the Seleucids: +5" that our alliance with Tylos +2 is worth the view of the Egyptians, the good relations with Sparta and Mazeondien depending +5. There will be spelling mistakes. This is what Google translate makes of it.
Thanks to the thread-starter for showing us this link![]()
