Default Anybody else think Rome 2 will be musical regions?

With 3/4 of the regions not requiring a siege to capture them I really hope CA has buffed up the garrisons other wise it will be region swap galore. I would much rather see stable Ai expansion than large tracks of land being swapped left and right and minor factions (factions without siege-able regions) being killed off in droves.

Now when I say garrisons should be buffed I mean at least double compared to what they were in Shogun 2. Even in Shogun 2 you had some crazy land swaps, hopefully the Ai will make survival and protecting their capital regions a priority before marching off in a random direction and not looking back.

Another thing I would like to see is the entire garrison assist with the defense of the city even if there is a full army defending as well. For example if there is a stack 20 units defending the capital and the garrison for the capital is 10 units there should be a total of 30 units defending the capital. So if the attacker has 2 full stacks you will have a 40 unit vs 30 unit siege battle. Controlling upto 40 units is going to be a sham just like it was in Shogun 2 if the defenders don’t get their full garrisons as reinforcements.

    Liking this suggestion.
Always disliked how Kyoto had like 15 Garrisson Units, but when a Fullstack was inside it the whole garrsion of 15 Units somehow dissapeared.

With the no sieges and 1tpy there's definitely going to be a lot of taking and losing cities really quickly.

I do believe CA are doing something different with garrisons this time around. There's no way they would leave it the same. Especially with the fact we have a limit on armies. Something has got to give with these garrisons.

Personally, I would love it if a full garrison spawned as soon as the city was besieged because if you think about it, when a siege started, every able-bodied male would sack the armoury and form up in defence. Bigger population, bigger garrison? Who knows...

Perhaps it would be like NTW, where a big city can easily scramble 10 units of militia.

I am looking forward to the music.

That aside, I do look forward to regions swapping hands. I do, however, want swapped regions to be capable of being defended. I'm not sure how it would be possible, but makeshift defenses would be nice.

I was thinking that earlier, but actually do trust CA in this aspect. There will be army limits so the AI cannot spam and there probably will be a respectable amount of a garrison in each city, on top of any other units in the area. I like the idea of a bigger garrison for a bigger population. And they all shouldn't be peasants, but should all be lower tiered.
When Hiero returned to besiege their base (Messana) in 265 BC the Mamertines called for help from a nearby fleet from Carthage, which occupied the harbor of Messana. Seeing this, the Syracuse forces retired, not wishing to confront Carthaginian forces. Uncomfortable under the Cathaginian "protection," the Mamertines now appealed to Rome to be allowed into the protection of the Roman people. At first, the Romans did not wish to come to the aid of soldiers who had unjustly stolen a city from its rightful possessors. However, unwilling to see Carthaginian power spread further over Sicily and get too close to Italy, Rome responded by entering into an alliance with the Mamertines. In response, Syracuse allied itself with Carthage, imploring their protection. With Rome and Carthage brought into conflict, the Syracuse/Mamertine conflict escalated into the First Punic War.
