Installation problem

I need help I bought Medieval II (gold edition) in 2010 I upgraded my computer and now I tried installing it on the new computer and I only installed the original (no disk space left for kingdoms) but when the install reached data2.cab I got an error message saying-error(cyclic redundancy check) and then it does not continue can someone help me ? (no sega support for India or any other asian country at that not nice )

Where did you buy the Gold Edition from? Some have turned out to be bad copies, or re-shrink wrapped returned copies.

Have you tired cleaning the disc real good checking for scratches, dirt, food, fingerprints, etc.?

I got it in a mall in Abu-dabi.

no dirt,fingerprints,food() but a few scratches how do I get rid of them if they are the problem?

I use a dab of toothpaste and rub it in real good. Be sure to remove the excess before putting it back in the drive.

should I wash the tooth-paste out with water?

Yes. Just squeeze a dab right on the scratched area. No water needed. Use a soft cloth to rub it into the scratches and to wipe off the excess.

P.S. The problem was with data2.cab if I could get a replacement maybe it would solve the problem?

See if it will install on a friend's computer.

it won't load on any computer I tried

I would say it's time to buy a new one. Have you checked Steam for a sale?

NO WAY I AM NOT BUYING IT FROM STEAM

Be aware of Play. Two on here so far have had copies that would not install. Same with Amazon. Direct2Drive/Gamefly download does not have a good 1.5 patch for 75% of the known world and odds are Abu Dubai would be one of the unfortunate ones.
