Hope? ALL games (and other projects) have a beta stage, after the alpha and before gold.

I don't think there will be demo or beta, CA would have said this originally as it would attract alot more people to buy to the game. For example comapny of heros 2 have stated from the start that who ever get the game will have a pre-order only access beta.

There will be a demo though not sure when, possibly a month or 2 weeks before release. In E3 interviews Al Bickham said something about 3 Chapter Prologue as a tutorial of some sort so possibly this will be part of the demo like the Shogun 2 tutorial have been.

As for a public beta then only thing possibly will be for MP battles like what was done pre FOTS release.

Wasn't the Shogun 2 demo, a historical battle only? The original Rome demo was also just a historical battle, i don't care what the demo in Rome 2 is about. I just hope we get one ;-;

Shogun 2 have a small campaign as Chosokabe on that samll island as a demo.

A demo or beta wouldn't hurt, it would allow them to see how it's running on everyone else's PC and what the main bugs are that need to be fixed before release.

one of the best things about Total war games is the freedom the player has. i was never a fan of the historical battles but Trebia for RTW was great

There will probably be a demo of one of the historical battles. Maybe the egyptian one since it has different things, boats, elephants, giant ballistas, capture point flag.

Hope it is not the battle of the Nile. Mostly because that one seems easy for the Egyptians. I'd rather have 2 even side; so it's fun to play again, and again, and again, etc.
