Well, only 12 people have said they would be interested. This isn't really enough to warrant a class.

Well, I don't think it will. We simply don't have enough people. This is merely an "are you interested" poll. Next would be the "sign-up" poll. However, we simply wouldn't get enough students at this point.

I suppose it's pretty difficult to get enough students for a language course.

Why not do a sign-up class anyhow to see what would happen?

I think I first need permission. Let me ask.

Currently 13 yes votes. I think that is a good class size. (if everyone who votes yes does join) I think it would be hard for one person to keep up with any more.

I would be interested. Did some German when one of my companies paid for the lessons and then did some more privately. We went on a trip to her home town of Heilbronn which was great fun. I became a big fan of German wine after that and still have some of the wine we bought at a vinyard in my garage.

Ok, looks like I have a green light. Over the next few days, I will complete a syllabus and prepare the course. Once done, I will open a sign-up thread. I will PM all those of you interested once it is ready.

Trust me on this, a dozen people's quite a lot, especially if this is your first time teaching.

I would sign up for this. But I don't know how university classes go on TWC, and it might be hard for me to catch up on classes (if they're being done in one big Skype call, similar to a real classroom).
Either way, I am genuinely interested in this course.

As I said in the syllabus, Skype sessions are optional, since it would be impossible to get everyone on at the same time, and since not everyone has the proper equipment. Much of the direct student-teacher interaction will take place in a special "Let's Talk" thread. It's not ideal, but that's the best solution under the circumstances.

Tests will be typed. I made the tests myself. They will be posted near the end of each week, and you will submit them back to me via PM.

Nope. it finished about a year ago now

You should be able to see the lessons and such here. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for it to be added to the Class Archives sub-forum if it doesn't let you access that, but I think it should work fine...
